I’m talking about Doordash, Amazon Prime, Walmart+, and the like. I have Amazon Prime, although I probably wouldn’t if it hadn’t been half price. I signed up to get Thursday night (American) football, but the free shipping for everything, cheap or not, has been helpful. How many subscriptions do you guys have, and what are they? Are they worth it to you?

We have Spotify, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. Oh, DIRECTV which I'll soon threaten to cut off again. They were charging $70 a month until I called to cancel. Then all of a sudden it was $28! Now each month it's creeping up.

@1creekgirl — that’s why I “cut the cord.” The only thing I watch with any regularity is baseball, and I bought MLB (with access to every game and archives) for less than one month of cable. I’d much rather watch the sun set on a live camera in Key West or Galveston, anyway.

@AmbiePam For no more than we watch it, DIRECTV would not be greatly missed.

I have Hulu and Disney through my phone company but they are included at no extra charge. Anything else I watch are free accounts like Tubi. I do pay for a month of Netflix a couple of times a year.

@AmbiePam We are watching the X Files on it right now. It has a lot of good shows. You sign in with your Amazon account.

@AmbiePam Freevee is a good one. Sling also has a free version if you have an account. Tubi is great! I use it for old movies, westerns, and documentaries which I enjoy. Another good one is Pluto TV. I use that one mostly for news and classic TV shows.

I can tell you Doordash isn't a subscription they don't have a monthly fee or at least that I'm not wear of have seen go out of my husband's accounts that we share. Amazon Prime we do have a yearly as well as Kindle Unlimited I pay for yearly sometimes there are better deals. We have Hulu and Disney Plus rolled into one together for a set of princes monthly which is like $80 which isn't bad. We don't have cable and again not all of these are set for the same time frame so money isn't going out on one day. Amazon we use a lot of the same as Hulu.

When I used to have Doordash they charged me a monthly, or yearly fee (whichever one preferred), but maybe they recently changed their policy. I cut mine off two months ago.
*I just realized I should have been more specific. I was wondering why they would charge me when you said you hadn’t been charged at all. I subscribed to their Dash Pass subscription, where if you do, you don’t have to pay a delivery fee. It paid for itself within two times of using it; I forgot that basic Doordash is free. Thanks for pointing that out.

@AmbiePam My husband has been using doordash since 2020 never been charged but we only use it when we want. I wish to give stars or tips or no tips when the deliver sucks. I fuss every time someone decide to put the bag of food in the middle of the door so when you open the door there isn't enough room to get around the door or you have to squeeze your hand under it. I also hated when they put it behind the door like you can tell which way a door opens by where the handle is on the door.
Like they say always read the fine print. Even if there is a charge sometimes its better then a monthly fee those things add up quickly.

Aside from Spectrum, we have Hulu at 99 cents a month for a year. It was a Black Friday special; and I re-joined to watch Lost again.

I can't think of any subscriptions I have right now....I think I still have Amazon Prime, but I've let a bunch of subscriptions go due to the fact I can't afford them.

I have one: Major League Baseball. It’s the only sport I follow and watch, and its $119 annual charge is less than one month of cable. So I ditched cable and bought MLB.
A couple of times a year Amazon will offer a free week (or month) of Prime, and I take full advantage of it!

I have none of them I cannot afford them, As it is I am paying 9,99 a month for Vocal Media premium but I need that to be able to enter challenges for money. Even though the amount is not much for me every penny always counts, I always order from Amazon when I have gift cards but I do not order so often that is pays for me to have Amazon Prime,

I was just talking to my family about the number of subscriptions we have in our household. The intent was to steer the convo to the point where we started talking about ones we could get rid of, but instead it turned into a fist about new subscriptions we need to get! Lol

@AmbiePam Haha, ultimately we all agreed that we didn't need to add any new subscriptions at this point, but no one would agree that we need to get rid of a few.

Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify. I've used the free trial periods for Apple+. And You Tube and Sling to watch sports. I like the feature where you can cancel at any time something you can't get with cable TV.

The only subscription I have right now is Netflix. My hubby thinks it's worth having something to entertain ourselves. If I remember in the US it's around $12.99 but in Mauritius, it's $3.99 so I consider ourselves lucky. Otherwise it would have been only YouTube.

We are subscribed to a multitude of streaming services because we find them cheaper than what we'd pay for cable in our area. So in that sense they're worthwhile, but some I'll admit have some programming I could gladly do without.
