From This Time Forth
Psalm 113:1 Praise the LORD! Praise, O servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD!
2 Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and forevermore!
3 From the rising of the sun to its going down the LORD’S name is to be praised.
4 The LORD is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens.
5 Who is like the LORD our God, who dwells on high, 6 who humbles Himself to behold the things that are in the heavens and in the earth?
7 He raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the ash heap, 8 that He may seat him with princes—with the princes of His people.
9 He grants the barren woman a home, like a joyful mother of children. Praise the LORD!
Today, while many people around the world lay hungover from their New Year’s Eve celebrations, we come to a new day, a new beginning. Yesterday is gone only to be remembered in memories.
What will you do with this new day and new year? Have you made resolutions that have already faded from memory?
Did you get up this morning with purpose in your heart and mind? Will you make today and this year the best year you can? I know that is the goal of many people today.
However, nobody knows what tomorrow will bring. The only thing you can do as Christians, is to praise God and give Him the day and year. Not only should you praise Him today, but you should praise Him every day. Give Him glory as David did who recognized his life was finite and his frame no more than dust.
When you praise God, He will bless you and you will find something to praise God about for the new day and new year. Let God hear your praise. Don’t keep silent. Remember what Jesus said, if you don’t praise Him, the rocks will sing for joy. The hills and the fields will clap their hands.
Luke 19:37 Then, as He drew near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, 38 saying: “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the LORD! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
39 And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.”
40 But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”
Psalm 98:4 Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth; break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises.
5 Sing to the LORD with the harp, with the harp and the sound of a psalm, 6 with trumpets and the sound of a horn; shout joyfully before the LORD, the King.
7 Let the sea roar, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell in it; 8 let the rivers clap their hands; let the hills be joyful together 9 before the LORD, for He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He will judge the world, and the peoples with equity.
If nature can’t keep silent, you shouldn’t either. Let your voice shout aloud with joy for the new year and watch God work in your life to make it the best year yet.
Let’s pray: Father, I praise You for the many blessings You give me every day. Let my praise come before You as incense, and the lifting of my hands as a sacrifice of my love for You. For You are holy, righteous, worthy of all praise. You made me in Your image and crowned me with glory and strength. Hear my voice in Your tabernacle, around Your throne today and every day until I see You face to face. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Yes, nature lives for God, more than we do at times. Nature makes a joyful noise every day, as it continues to live its life here. We should try to do the same.
