I am so out of sync

I have realised I cannot sit for hours watching a movie So used to short-length episodes and serials that I feel restless attempting to watch a movie. I do not know when it was the last time I watched a movie either online, on TV or even in a theater. The theater experience was several years ago Looking back it used to be a Saturday matinee show regularly that we went travelling miles as there were no theaters close by and in those days we had no TV nor any online possibility. As one ages I suppose our likes change too. What changes do you see in your life?

Before the pandemic, we would watch at least 2_3 movies in a month in the theatre. That used to be our weekend plan on most weekends. But now that is almost nil. We have watched around 4_5 movies in the theatre after pandemic. With Netflix, Amazon and other OTT platforms, our entertainment has changed. But I still prefer to watch good movies on big screen in the comfort of theatre.

@arunima25 When one can spend time indoors and get to enjoy why take the trouble to go out?

@allknowing No, I have not. In fact, my husband and I watched a lot of movies in the last week of the year. We were on holidays and we woke up till 2AM everyday watching movies . Yes, going to movie theaters have come down drastically. We feel lazy to do that unless it's a movie really worth that.

I felt that way for years about movies! Give my a TV show any day. Finally, last year I started to watch movies again, but only in a theater. Because, if I’m home I’ll get distracted. If I’m at a theater, I have no choice but to pay attention. Plus, those recliners in the theater make my back pain a lot better.

I've gotten hooked on Chinese and Korean dramas, and some are quite long but since they are in episodes it makes it easier to watch.. The last one was 42 episodes, but it was so good I think I finished early. Never thought I would get involved in these.

It is far better to watch episodes than long movies at a stretch

I can still do it, but I'm also easily distracted. I blame my phone. It's like I'm always multitasking.

@allknowing true. I went to the cinema last night and I was happy I was able to focus throughout the whole thing.

@allknowing I would like to be a calmer person and more positive but I find it very hard when I was always something else and for me it is very hard to turn my life around and be someone else. I know I have to keep trying and find the one thing that will work for me. So far, have not found that.
