Have You Ever Heard This Saying?

United States

I have heard a saying that has puzzled me for a number of years. The saying is he or she is getting better to die. I knew a young man, who was my middle son's friend. He got sick, we all thought he was getting better, in fact the day before he died, his Mom said he was talking so much until she had to tell him to shut up. I know of another person whom we thought was getting better and was going to come home, but didn't.. I always wonder about that saying seems so strange. Have you ever heard it?

@popciclecold It does. It seems from reading all the comments that there is some truth to the saying.

I don't know the saying, but my mom has always said something similar about just before a person passes (she's witnessed too much of it ).

Not heard this one before and it is a bit ominous. Are you really getting better or is worse to follow!

I haven't heard that saying but I've heard about people seeming to get a second lease of life a few days before they die. It seems a bit similar to pregnant women getting a sudden burst of energy a few days before they give birth.

Yes, I've heard it. Sometimes someone will seem like they are getting better right before they die. Have a great day.
