My Father didn't make it this year

Philippines
January 3, 2024 12:36pm CST
He's not been the same since his kidney probems got worst. I really thought he got cured after years of dialysis, I was so wrong. He stopped communicating months ago and it got us worried. Then this new year we learned he died in the hospital due to pheumonia. I guess it was a matter of time. No wonder I wasn't feeling it the New Year hype, something was wrong. But during the night mass last year I've always included him in my prayers and asked what happened to him. Now, we know. He was not with us when he died sadly. But at least he won't suffer anymore. Kinda seeing myself in the future if I don't do my diet.

I am sorry about your father. Seeing a parent pass from something preventable can serve as a wake up call to us.

So sorry to know about your loss. It's not easy to get over it. Please be kind to yourself. Sad that you were not aware of it. Why did he stop communication? May his soul rest in peace.

They say he got sick from the meds he was taking @arunima25 but sometimes I wasn't sure about that.

I'm so sorry about your father, and that you found out after the fact. May he rest in peace. It sure makes us think about our own future and health - the time to improve is now.

@Letranknight2015 We know it's inevitable, but it's still hard to believe when the time comes. Health is everything . . . do what you can to take care of yourself well while you are still young!

I knew He was going to die at some point @much2say . I didn't know when, but I'm sure i'd be next if I keep eating foods and beverages that could damage the kidney someday.

Sorry to hear of the demise of your father. Yes, his suffering due to his failing body is over. Kidney failure and dialysis are tough to deal with on a long-term basis.

I had a classmate who had dialysis too but it wasn't even a year before he passed. At least my dad were able to hold it longer.
