A resident in Grand Haven Michigan decided to make a statement by placing a recliner to cover a huge pothole around New Years Day since city officials are not able or cannot make repairs on the pothole that is located on North Beacon Street. Cory Denny who is a resident of Grand Haven did share a picture of the recliner covering the pothole on social media. Thanks to the free publicity that the recliner has been getting on social media, Grand Haven city officials have admitted that they are working on having a construction crew fix the pothole by contacting the owner of the road to have the pothole repaired as soon as possible. As of Monday, the recliner that covers the pothole has become a celebrity of sorts since it is odd for persons to protest a hole in the road by placing a recliner on top of a pothole. That is a good way to do it. Potholes cause a lot of damage to cars.

Attract persons who like seeing a chair used as a prop for a protest.

I agree with you that using a recliner as a form of protest next to laying down a tree or a brick on a road.

Having a big piece of furniture in the middle of the road can cause just as much damage as a pothole can.

I hope so as well since someone is going to be hurt with the potholes in the street.

A unique protest ! Yet we do sometimes hear of a few odd ways of protest. Glad that the authorities listened and started fixing it.

It is the most unusual way of protesting next to sitting down on a street or laying trees or log on a street.

Perhaps if the Police track down who did that, he might be fined for doing that. It sounds like illegal dumping, even if it does make some type of a point. We have idiots here always dumping sofas, mattresses, and armchairs, on the sides of the roads.

I hope so as well since potholes only get fixed after a tragic event happens.

I know what you mean since I have protestors running on a baseball diamond or football field just to get attention for their cause but not using a recliner as a form of a protest on a street to cover a pot hole.
