Pennies

I've got a lot of pennies in jars and other various containers. I have some penny roller papers, but the glue is no longer sticking. So now I have to get more rollers. I couldn't seem to fall asleep and I thought about them. Do you have pennies in jars? So now I have to add to my list to get rollers. Do you roll them, or just let them sit? It's a tough job. Never thought much about them until tonight. I guess when you can't sleep your mind wonders. Have a great night.

I don't have it, because most of us young people no longer use cash, and we have completely digitized our payments. We use mobile phones for direct payment and transfer. Many of us no longer have the concept of money, it is just a string of numbers in our mobile banking.

I have heard that the whole world will use a cashless society. Headed that way.

My relatives and myself used to have jars loaded with pennies a few years ago but it no longer the case.

I dump the pennies in a jar. Once a year I take them to the bank and shove them, along with the other change, in the change counter there. They do not charge anyone to use it if you have an account there. So it takes care of the penny problem.

I'll check with my bank. Better than rolling them. Thanks.

It certainly is better than messing with rolling them. Many banks have these counter machines.

@popciclecold The bags have denominations printed on the front eg $5 of 10c coins, $10 of $1 coins, etc. At the bank they don't recount the coins but weigh them to make sure the amounts are correct.

I called the bank, and they said I'll have to roll them. This sucks.

I have a ton of pennies too. But I don't have to roll them to turn them in. My bank has a counter machine and you just dump the pennies into the machine, it counts it, prints out a slip, and I take that to the teller and she gives me my money.

You are so lucky, here if you go to a store with a lot of pennies, the cashier will get really angry.

I don't roll my change I just build it up for about 2-3 yrs
& then take them to the bank & they put them in a counting
machine & it counts it all up, we just cashed ours out & we
got like about 300$.

@popciclecold Yeah when you live on a fixed income
it pays in the long run to save ALL your change as long
as you can, we save ours in LG P nut butter jars.
We seperate ours too pennies nickles & dimes
quarters & we keep a count on how much is in each jar.

Some banks will take containers that even have random coins and put them through a machine that counts it all. When we had a paper route our bank did that for us all the time. Also, some stores have "coin stars" that do this. You then can either get a voucher for cash with a percentage taken out or a voucher for full value for the store. It would be a whole lot easier than rolling pennies.

I don't have many of them. I don't roll coins, if I want to cash them in my bank has a coinstar machine. I wait until I have a lot so I can put them in a savings account of some sort.

Save your wheat pennies. They are worth more. We have coins that need to be put in rolls. You have a great night too.
