I was wondering what all your thoughts are on Marriage. Do you think there is such a thing as a perfect marriage? Some marriages are such a disaster that you always wonder if they were worth the time and heartbreak or if it is a learning curb in life?

There is no perfect marriage but two imperfect people can make it perfect.

NO I do not believe that a "Perfect" marriage exist. You can have a good marriage but you always go through ups and downs, it's never a "fairy tale".

I agree there are definitely ups and downs, I think a lot of those people who project a perfect marriage are lying to themselves.

@traceh Those who project a perfect marriage will fail and divorce. Perfect is not human.

I've been married for nearly 14 years and I can tell you there is no such thing as a perfect marriage. There is always going to be ups and downs. Things that you both don't agree with come with any relationship that someone has but in marriage, it seems as if what is your is your partners and what is your partner is yours. Yes, it can be a learning curve because you're not always going to get along. You're going to disagree and have to compromise if possible. That is why I tell people communication is key to any relationship. Even uncomfortable conversations.

There's no such thing as a perfect marriage because there are no perfect people. We've been married for 57 years. We've had plenty of rough times, but we love each other more today than ever.

You are right Vicki, perfect does not exist. We must be prepared to face rough times.

It's all in what you feel for 1 another & how much effort you put into it, it takes 2 to make a PERFECT relationship work the way you want it to.

So true, it will never be a good marriage if only one of the partners does all the work to keep it running.
