Day 177
Revelation 7:1 After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree.
2 Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. He cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, 3 saying, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”
4 I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed: 5 twelve thousand were sealed of the tribe of Judah; of the tribe of Reuben; of the tribe of Gad; 6 of the tribe of Asher; of the tribe of Naphtali; of the tribe of Manasseh; 7 of the tribe of Simeon; of the tribe of Levi; of the tribe of Issachar; 8 of the tribe of Zebulun; of the tribe of Joseph; and of the tribe of Benjamin.
9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”
11 All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying: “Amen! Blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen.”
13 Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?”
14 I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So, he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore, they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. 16 They will neither hunger nor thirst anymore; the sun will not strike them, nor any heat; 17 for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
Many things in life cause you such happiness that you sing and exalt the person or situation that made you happy?
John saw what the angels did to the faithful servants of the tribes of Israel, sealing them with God’s seal, and keeping the earth safe until they sealed them. Then John heard the joy and exaltation of the angels, elders, and four living creatures, praising God, and blessing Him, ascribing to Him, blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might forever and ever. Amen. Then the angel asked him who those arrayed in white robes were and where they came from. When John couldn’t tell him, he told him they came out of the great tribulation with their robes washed white in the blood of the Lamb. Then the angel told him they would serve God in His temple, and God would dwell among them. They would never hunger or thirst anymore, nor suffer the heat from the sun because the Lamb in the middle of the throne would shepherd them and lead them to fountains of living water, and God would wipe away their tears.
Christians look forward to the day when they step into eternity and God wipes away their tears and leads them to fountains of living water where they will never hunger and thirst again.
David talked about such a time.
Psalm 23:1 (A Psalm of David.) The LORD is my shepherd; I will want for nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Jesus talked about the living water to the woman at the well.
John 4:4 He needed to go through Samaria.
5 He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus, therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.”
8 For His disciples had gone into the city to buy food.
9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.
10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”
11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? 12 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?”
13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water I will give him will never thirst. The water I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.”
16 Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”
17 The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’ 18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.”
19 The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”
21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither worship the Father on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem. 22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.”
26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”
27 At this point His disciples came, and marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one said, “What do You seek?” or, “Why are You talking with her?”
28 The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, 29 “Come, see a Man who told me all things I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”
30 Then they went out of the city and came to Him.
The fountain of living water is for all those who accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. In accepting Him, they wash their robes in the blood of the Lamb.
Those who accept Jesus as Savior and Lord after the rapture also washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. He will do the same for them that He did for all those who accepted Him before the rapture. Jesus will lead them to fountains of living water where they will never hunger and thirst again. He will wipe away all their tears and they will praise and exalt Him, blessing Him with the angels, elders, and four living creatures. They will have God’s seal on them because they are from every tribe of Israel and all the nations of the earth.
It will be a glorious day when God shows His people, He never forsook them, but sealed them so they would not go through the judgments to come.
Are you sealed with God’s seal against the judgments of this world? You might tell yourself the tribulation hasn’t begun yet, the rapture hasn’t happened, you aren’t sealed. Consider what Jesus did for you when you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. He sealed you with His promises, promises of protection and safety from every scheme Satan devises against you. He gave you His armor so you could withstand every evil scheme.
Just as the Holy Spirit keeps you safe in this present time, God will keep His chosen people safe during the tribulation when they accept Him as their Messiah. He will give them His seal of protection, lead them to fountains of living water, and wipe the tears from their eyes. Nothing will harm them. Then they will bless God along with everyone else in heaven.
Nothing will harm you when You stand on God’s promises, sealed in the blood of Jesus Christ.
Let’s pray: Father, I bless You for sealing me against every scheme Satan brings against me. Remind me that I am Yours and have Your seal of approval over my life when Satan brings trouble my way. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Much emphasis is given in the Bible to the twelve tribes of Israel, and they figure here in John's revelation too.
I wonder why God created, and wanted a special people amongst us all like that?

@innertalks God created Adam and Eve, they started the human race. From them the whole human race derived. So, it's only natural that they would be God's chosen people.

@just4him We could also ask God for understanding of that in our prayers too, I guess, even now.
Perhaps God created them as an example of people living on the Earth dedicated to God, and yet, they largely lost their way, and connection to God, through overemphasis on laws and rules, rather than just loving. God had to send his son to reintroduce love to the world then too.

I like the story of the woman at the well. Many people always use the 144000 verse to say that only 144000 people will be raptured. I think they have misunderstood it. I appreciate the bible study. I hope God has sealed me too.
