Moose that was trapped in a river rescued by a couple and peace officers

Thanks to the efforts of a New Brunswick couple who were in the Rogersville region on Sunday afternoon when they saw a female moose that was trapped in a river that needed to be rescued. The couple who are Jolyne and Claude Lavoe asked for help from peace officers to assist them to rescue the female young moose who had fallen into the river by falling through the ice into the river. Claude managed to enter the river to get a strap around the back leg of the moose. The rescuers assisted Claude by getting the moose closer to the shore before moving the strap to the neck of the moose so they could move the moose away from a possible tragic ending of her life. The moose was then able to stand up on her own after the strap was taken away from her neck and walk away safely. Link is upi.com/9741704921000 via @upi
