It is all about the weather

At least for me, that is the focus. I do not know when this cold spell will end, maybe Tuesday when the kids are scheduled back to school.
Monday we have an inservice, unless they cancel, which they might. I am okay with it either way.
There is one or two things that I will need to replenish.
I was certainly glad to have kitty litter in my car last Thursday. Where I parked was a sheet of ice and I could not get traction to move my car. I poured kitty litter behind each tire and kind of brushed it up so the tire came in contact and had traction. I will be sure to replenish that.
We are fine as far as food goes, though. That is a good feeling. Stews and soups and casseroles are so comforting.
Having a little time to do things feels good. I cut Bob's hair this evening.
The office seems to be the coldest room in the house. I need to put more covers on the windows I guess.
I will try to come up with some new thoughts tomorrow. Something besides the weather. Most churches around here have cancelled due to wind. I am getting a little stir crazy.

It would be the older folk that would try. Our church will be open, whether people come or not. Pastor said that is easier than calling everyone individually. She has a sermon prepared. I picked out music, but that is thirty miles from here and we will not go.

@GardenGerty I think we’ll end up having it this morning, but if not, they’ll announce it on Facebook, send out an email announcement, and put it on the crawl on the local news. However, I think snow starts falling this afternoon, and I bet that does cancel this evening’s service.

I see from other comments you are from Indonesia, so the weather in Finland must be quite different for you. Why are you in Finland?

@Phebri My husband is American but very proud of their Finlander heritage. Most of his family settled in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan which I am told is much like Finland. He moved to Kansas to marry me.

Well, it is Monday. We have an in-service, but it is optional. Last night the car would not start. Hubs put it on a charger, so it is up in the air whether or not I will go.

@paigea Yes, you would honor previous bookings but no one said you would have to accept on a frozen day.

@GardenGerty I didn't accept work today. If I'd been booked, I would have gone, of course.

My computer says it's 9F right now. Way too cold. Make sure to replenish your kitty litter and have a good evening.

I didn't know wind could cause churches to be cancelled. It rained here Sunday night. My Monday was sunny. But now it's at night and it is cold.

We had wind chill so bad that they could not keep the heat warm enough and the wind blew snow to cover the roads so people could not drive. Some had damage from fallen trees, some had broken pipes.

Weather stops us from doing a lot of things, except talking about it. Stay safe and warm.

Yes, we will stay inside at least one more day. I will get the trash out to the curb today and I may start the car just to see if it will start.

I know the church in LaRue had cancelled yesterday for today. I don't think we warm up much until close to the end of the week.
