Day 181
Revelation 16:15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.”
People don’t know when thieves will come into their lives to destroy what they worked hard for all their lives. If they did, they would be ready for them, and the thieves couldn’t destroy them.
There will be seven bowl judgments, the last judgments of God to those who rejected Jesus as Savior and Lord. There would be no hope for them because they took the mark of the beast. God determined their final destination. Even so, they would feel His final wrath. When the angel poured the first bowl on the people, they had foul smelling sores on them. The second angel poured his bowl on the sea, and it became blood as of dead men so that every creature in it died. The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and it too became blood. Then John heard the angel proclaim with a loud voice the importance of that bowl judgment.
Revelation 16:5 I heard the angel of the waters saying: “You are righteous, O Lord, The One who is and who was and who is to be, because You have judged these things. 6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due.”
7 And I heard another from the altar saying, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.”
The fourth angel poured his bowl on the sun and power was given him to scorch men with fire. Still, they did not repent but continued to blaspheme God’s name. The fifth angel poured his bowl on the beast’s throne, and darkness fell over the kingdom so that the people gnawed their tongues because of the pain. Then the angel poured the sixth bowl and dried up the River Euphrates, allowing the kings of the earth to come through. John then saw frogs come from the mouths of the dragon, beast, and false prophet. They were the demons who performed the signs and wonders and caused the kings of the earth and the whole world to gather for the final battle, Armageddon.
Jesus then proclaimed He would come as a thief in the night and those who watched and kept their garments clean were blessed and would not walk naked and ashamed. It was the same instruction He gave to His disciples when He gave them the signs of His coming.
Matthew 24:42 “Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore, you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
Christians don’t know when the Tribulation will happen, but they’ve been given the signs of what to look for when the time is near. All the signs have been fulfilled. We only wait for the final trumpet when Jesus will rapture the church to Himself, and the final judgments of the earth will commence. God will pour out His wrath for the last time with the bowl judgments on all those who rejected Jesus, blasphemed His name, and took the mark of the beast. Until the moment they took the mark, they could repent and accept Jesus as Savior and Lord, but not after they took the mark. God’s final judgments were against them alone. All those who accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord during the previous judgments would see the final judgments and receive God’s blessing because they washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb. Their garments were robes of righteousness. They would never walk before God naked and ashamed again. Then would come the final battle, Armageddon, and the seventh angel would pour out his bowl and God would declare from His throne, “It is done!”
Just as Jesus declared from the cross, “It is finished” God would declare the judgments completed. Jesus’ declaration allowed all men everywhere to accept His salvation. God’s declaration from the throne declared Satan’s final judgment along with the beast and false prophet, and all those who rejected Jesus as Savior and Lord.
Revelation 16:17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!”
18 There were noises, thunder, and lightning; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth.
19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.
20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
21 And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.
What will it take for you to repent and turn to God, to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord? There will come a day when it will be too late, and God’s judgment will be on everyone who rejected Jesus as Savior and Lord. The time is near.
Let’s pray: Father, You showed the world what would take place during the Tribulation. You gave everyone the opportunity to repent and accept Jesus, Your Son, as Savior and Lord. Thank you for those who accepted You and will accept You before it’s too late. Thank you for redeeming me and giving me robes of righteousness so I will never walk naked and ashamed before You. Thank you for blessing me because I am Your child. Help me show the world Jesus and show them the way of salvation before it’s too late. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

I am not sure how apt a metaphor that is that God will come like a thief in the night, as God is no thief, but I guess it means for us to be ready, and to repent now, rather than when it is already too late.

@innertalks That's terrible they did that. I agree. He should have let the police handle it.

@just4him These days, thieves are more brazen here. Even if one is ready for them, if a gang of thieves breaks in, there is little hope for the house owner.
We had a case here recently when thieves broke into a doctor's house, and stole a lot of stuff. The doctor got in his car, and chased them, but they stopped their car, and killed him.
The doctor should have just rang the police, and leave the policing to them.
