Off To A Funeral Later

I hate funerals. Of course, most people do. But of course, we all have to attend them from time to time. With life comes death. It is just inevitable. It is much a part of life as anything is. She was not someone my wife and I really knew. In fact, we only just met her a few short weeks ago. But she passed a couple of days after Christmas. She is the mother of my niece's current boyfriend of two years and because he has sort of become part of the family, it seems to be the right thing to at least pay our respects. On the 18th of December my nephew graduated from Logan University and became a chiropractor. And my sister threw a party for him. We all wanted to meet Caleb's mom and so she was invited, and she was a very nice lady with lots and charm and seemed like a lot of fun. We were looking forward to more get togethers to include her, but fate waved its hand, and we won't have the opportunity. The funeral is a bit far, about an hour away, and services start at 1pm. So that's where we will be most of the day. So sad that we only just got to meet her the one time, but at the same time, very glad we got to meet her at all.
