Day 183 Revelation 19:1 After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation, glory, honor, and power belong to the Lord our God! 2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” 3 Again they said, “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!” 4 The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, “Amen! Alleluia!” 5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!” 6 I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunder, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 To her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. 9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” 10 I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” 11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 The armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. 17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, 18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, of captains, of mighty men, of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.” 19 I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 The rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. All the birds were filled with their flesh. Wedding celebrations bring out the best in people. They dress in their finest clothes to honor the wedding couple. The bride selects the finest dress she will ever own for the man she loves. Every detail of the ceremony brings out the best in the bride. The groom is no less resplendent in his appearance. John saw and heard the exaltations of heaven and the proclamation that the time had come for the wedding supper of the Lamb. The angel told everyone to be glad and rejoice for the bride had made herself ready. She wore garments made of finest linen, which were the righteous acts of the saints. Then the Lamb arrived on a white horse with the armies of heaven following. His name was Faithful and True. He wore crowns on his head, and a robe that declared who He was: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. His eyes were a flame of fire, and His robe was dipped in the blood of the saints. He had a name written that no one knew except Him, and out of His mouth came a sharp sword to strike the nations. With the feast ready, the angel called the birds to the feast to feed upon all those who rejected the Lamb. If you are a Christian, you are the bride of Christ. Every day you make yourself ready for the marriage supper of the Lamb. You do that through obedience to God, spending time in His Word, praying, and displaying the gifts and fruit of the Spirit in your lives. When you treat others the way you want to be treated, you display God’s love to everyone you encounter. People will see your actions and know you are different because you don’t retaliate but show love. Jesus said by this people would know you belong to Him. John 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know you are My disciples if you have love for one another.” Your bridal gown glimmers with the righteous acts you displayed through your love to everyone. When you see your Groom, the Lamb of God coming with the armies of heaven, you know you look your best, and you know He will conquer your enemies. You know because you see your blood on His robes. You see the crowns on His head, and His name written on His thigh and robe. You see the sword of His mouth that strikes the nations and provides food for the birds to feast on. You rejoice with great joy because He conquered your greatest enemy, Satan as you see him, and his false prophet thrown into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. You are ready. Rejoice and be glad. You are His bride. Let’s pray: Father, let me rejoice and be glad as I make myself ready for the marriage supper of the Lamb. Let me display love in everything I do. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 16 January 2024 by Valerie Routhieaux The image belongs to me.

Nice short prayer. Amen. Thank you for sharing the bible study with us. I used to wonder, if christians are the bride of Christ, won't that be too many brides for one person?
