Another jigsaw done and dusted

While my sister was staying with me, I finished off a large jigsaw with her help. Vince took a photo of it for me. It shows a collection of beer bottles and brands from around the world. It was quite difficult to do but also kept my interest. My sister has lent me two more but they are much smaller than the one I’ve just finished. When I dismantle a jigsaw, I put all the edge pieces in a separate ziplock bag so I don’t have to go to the bother of fishing them out next time I do the puzzle. Do you ever do jigsaws? And do you keep the edges separate for the next time?

I grew up doing jigsaw puzzles with the whole family. I do them online now (TheJigsawPuzzles.com).

That's impressive. I did once when I was little during our visit to one of her friends. She gave it to me and asked me to solve it. It kept me busy and she and my mom got to chat without me getting bored.

@JudyEv Yes she's a very smart lady. She would always give me toys whenever my mom and I would visit her. She knew how to make kids happy which is why I loved going to her place. Good food and toys were something she always offered and I could not refuse.

My hubs loves to work on jigsaws, he has one on the go currently. He will pick away at it a bit now and again and have it finished in a few months. The last one that he finished took a very long time, and we glued it together and I hung it in my office.

I think I remember when your husband finished that one. I remember that it took him a very long time.

@JudyEv Yes, it took him a very long time. It is a winter's scene of a man and a woman in a horse-drawn sleigh coming out of a covered bridge.

My nephew likes to do jigsaw puzzles. I find them just another thing I don't want to apply myself to. If I do have time I want to fill I usually read. I bought a jigsaw puzzle last year, pit 2 pieces together and it sat there for a few months until I realized I wasn't going to do it.

Now that I don't have so much else to do and can't do a lot of the things I'd like to do, I find myself doing them more often.

I brought a small one back from my sisters. Only 250 large pieces. I finished it in an hour and a half. It's good to do easy ones sometimes.

I love jigsaw puzzles. I have several. I've never kept the edges separate. Good idea. Mostly I do online puzzles right now.

I have not done one in ages. My first husband always said I did not do them right (?) and Bob does not like them. My kids like them. I sent one of my grandsons a puzzle for Christmas and my daughter and her three youngest kids took a picture and sent me last night. It was rows and rows of all the Lego "little people."

I can't imagine that there is a right or wrong way to do jigsaws. The one of the Lego people sounds fun. Vince doesn't enjoy them either.

I recognised the bottle of Newcastle Brown and Fosters. The colours all looked pretty similar, so that can't have made it easy to do

The first time I did it on my own it took about a week but I'd only do a bit each day. I get a backache if I spend too long bending over them.
