Do you ever get vertigo?

I've had it maybe once but not for several years. What I get more often is a bit of dizziness mostly when I get up in the mornings. After a few minutes it's usually gone. After talking with my doctor a year or so ago about this, he thought it was probably due to my eustachian tube being blocked by sinus drainage. So since that time anytime I've been fussy in the mornings I begin taking Flonase in the morning and before bed. Usually working three days I'm over it. But, this time I had vertigo in the middle of the night wed night into Thurs morning. It was worse than I've ever had before. It was better yesterday but not perfect. Since my husband was working I used his walker in the house to ensure I keep my balance just in case. My husband came home Tues and told me a couple more people where experienced the dizziness. So I looked it up and there are viruses with that as a symptom. I'm still using Flonase which it's a nasal spray for allergies because no one knows the cause. My sister told me about the crystals in our ears as did the nurse. The Dr also called in a Rx for me. It's for motion sickness. That seems to be helping. Yesterday morning I wasn't able to be here very long. But things improved as the day progressed. Today the vertigo is basically gone, but there's still residual dizziness. I need to load the dishes and I'd like to do stuff in the computer. Since I can use my phone more hopefully I can manage the other tasks too. I hope this isn't something going around. I'll add an unrelated image later. This image was in a post of mine from 2016 that porwest found. I know I made it but I don't remember how for sure. It might have been in photoscape. I'm hoping I wrote about how I did this here, but have to figure out an easy way to find out if it is there, or I should say here. Ps. By mid day I was back to feeling like my normal self.

@MarshaMusselman Sometimes all you can do is take things one day at a time. They tend to work themselves out.

Thank you, I'm better already. Not as quick as I've recuperated before, but I'm much better today.

I hate the dizzy spells I get, but they don't last long I get them when I get out of bed, but when I sleep in the recliner I don't get them?? I wonder why?

It might be because the movement into an upward position while in the recliner is slower?

@2ndchances24 I had them that way last night. Any time I moved my head I was dizzy for a few moments. But once I got up I was fine overall.

Is your BP OK? If I ever get dizzy or light headed it seems to be related to that

@MarshaMusselman Maybe, but it might be a good idea to take it if you are experiencing that.

I have had low bp before, but not low enough that it has to be monitored. I still think mine was related to sinuses draining into my eastausian tube.

@snowy22315 if your mean the Rx I was given, I did take it yesterday too and maybe one before bed. Now all symptoms are gone. So I'll save it in case I get dizzy again down the road.

I think I'm not back to my normal self. Yesterday I could only be in my phone a few minutes at a time. Today other than running a load of dishes and making supper I've been able to be here a play a few games. Tomorrow, I hope to get back to working on my journals and make some for Valentine's Day. I also need to catch up on bookkeeping.

I've gotten dizzy a few times but it passed quickly. Glad you were able to use the walker to keep your balance and hope that it's passed now and you're feeling better.

@Marilynda1225 there's a possibility that it was due to dehydration instead of the others. I've never drank a lot of water during the winter months. It's much easier during the summer but even then I'm not sure that I drink what I should in a daily basis. I've decided to drop my coffee consumption down from two cups to one per day and try to drink a glass of water before I have any coffee. Yesterday I was shy about one drink to what I should have. Odd thing is that what I've been drinking is normal for me. Possibly my body is trying to wake me up to drink more. I decided I'd I rather be up all night drinking water instead of not getting any sleep because the room is turning.

When I had my wisdom teeth out about 5 years ago I got a light case of vertigo. My husband and I both got it when we were sick around the time corona hit the US. I get dizzy often with having anemia but vertigo is a very different feeling it makes me feel like I’m walking sideways and almost like the earth is spinning to fast and I’m trying to balance to walk while it’s spinning. I hope it goes away for you soon completely. I’m glad you’re using the walker to be safe around the house.

Mom got severe vertigo once and the doctor told us that she was dehydrated and needed to drink a lot of fluid. He also said that once the liquid in the eustachian tube turned to crystals that those crystals could lodge between those hair like thingys which is what causes dizziness and vertigo.

Ok, I wondered if I might be dehydrated too. It's been a push to drink the water since retiring. When it's warmer or I have no problem. Maybe I need to buy more teas again. I do have a few. As far as the crystals I think they mostly hand our in the ear area. But it's all connected so maybe that is a part of it. The previous time I had it, it was not as bad as this time. I still think it's related to my sinuses and allergies, but I'm sure more water consumption would certainly help.

Yes, I do. And I loathe it. Can’t stand being dizzy. I’ve been in the ER for it because I literally couldn’t stand up. They’ve determined its inner ear and allergy stuff. Pray you’re feeling better.

I'm much better today, thank you. My doctor gave me an Rx for something that helps with motion sickness, I may have said that in my past already. I think that might have helped because last night I didn't have the awful vertigo but each time I moved my head I was dizzy for a few minutes. Today has been much better though. So I'm hoping I'm over it. Odd thing is that when I get dizzy and if it's my eastausian tube that's plugged from drainage, I rarely have other symptoms with it like being plugged up in my nose or dripping. Although, the day before the vertigo I had a sinus headache and pressure. Today I started with a headache but I don't even know when that left.

That was a good idea to use a walker for stability. I'm sometimes a bit dizzy if I stand up too quickly but I have had nothing like you're experienced.

Sorry that you have to deal with dizziness and vertigo. I've never dealt with it before, but I know people who have, and they say it is miserable. Hope you continue to feel better.

I get the dizziness from time to time but it's usually very short and is normally gone once I get up. This is the first time that I remember that I had vertigo in the same week as the dizziness.

I had sinusitis long back and suffered for 40 long years. I cured myself completely from it by doing yoga.

You mean the epley exercises- to keep the crystals or is the ear canal? I've not tried them yet. I did watch a video and you have to make sure your timing is right for it too move out of wherever it's stuck.
