Aww Have you ever woken up with a song playing in your head?

This happens to me every now and then, just happened about 10 minutes ago.
And by the time you're fully awake, you can only still hear the main chorus but you've forgotten the rest of the words because usually it's an older song that you probably knew well, but now it's a bit of a memory.
So before you even move or get out of bed, you grab the TV remote and look up the song on YouTube just so you can hear it from the very beginning..
The subconscious mind, you gotta love it.
Well, I guess I'm off to the gas station to do the whole turkey sub and ice water thing.
And then I'm making this Mexican breakfast brilliant idea casserole with mini hash browns and melted cheese on top.
See y'all later
And will answer notifs later

So do I, sometimes while falling asleep. And yes I hate them too. I always thought it had something to do with OCD but now I see it’s just an active part of the mind still partying while the other part is trying to shut down or sleep. I think it knows all kinds of secret stuff, I mean if it can recall a whole song while you’re sleeping.
Thanks Amber

I have been there so many times. Sometimes, I remember the entire song so vividly and there are times when I remember the tune so well and keep humming it but can't get the lyrics . I will keep asking others till I get my answer.

It’s cool and creepy how another part of your mind can make you hear an entire song while you’re asleep, AND know all the words.. like it’s having a little party all on its own. Then when you wake up, you only know half the song (?) Or just a few parts? So I had to look it up. Weirdness. This song is not even from my era. I’m usually lost in the 90’s. Thanks @arunima25

@Melanie_Marie Even I am lost in the songs that were composed before my birth or some before I was 5. They are timeless classics and I developed a taste for them as my mom would often play them or sing them. Nothing beats those soulful classics from the past .
And you are right. Our mind and psychology works in a very interesting way. It's still not well understood and I am sure that we would not be ever able to unravel the entire mystery of it.

I always think it’s crazy weird when you wake up with a song in your head (or maybe you start humming a song in the shower without even realizing you’re doing it), and then next thing you know you’re driving to work and that very same song comes on the radio.

@Melanie_Marie What? How come nobody sent me the memo about 2024 being the year of little to no thinking? I’ve been sending smoke out of my ears for the first 25 days of the year due to me trying to think!

Ooh Jeff what you’re talking about here is a little different than a song “download” .. it’s more of a mini-manifestation that you did accidentally. But since 2024 is the year of little to no thinking, I’ll just leave it right there. But still very cool.

@moffittjc Are you sure it isn’t air? I mean, you are an Air sign, which automatically makes you an airhead.
This is not our fault.
2024 is the year of little to no thinking for me cuz it’s my New Year’s resolution. I’m doing pretty well with it.

When I get up to use the bathroom each night I often have whole songs running thru my brain. Mine are typically ones we sang recently at church or from the Christian radio.

That makes sense, I bet it’s very calming.
I remembered the first time I heard this one blasting in my head the other night.. finally.
I was driving home from my Grandma’s house, maybe 2006-ish. Right around the time I joined myLot. I liked it, but didn’t put too much thought into. But I guess another part of my brain did. Haha
Thank you Marsha :)
Good to know other people are hearin’ the tunes too

I only knew the chorus, heard it on the radio before but would never seek it out or look it up. Just did it last night because apparently my mind memorized the entire song and I was the last to know. Thank you @peachpurple Cute name
