Frenchman Philippe Petit, who is a high-wire artist gained world fame when he walked between the World Trade Center towers in 1974. Now at the age of 74, he will be walking the high wires across the Cathedral Church of St. John Divine in NYC. This is not his first time since he had walked across the 601-foot-long nave at least twice but a much younger man. Since he has done jobs at the cathedral that others cannot do. I say may God bless him and more power to him. The event is taking place on February 1 called the Ribbon Walk. You can Google it online for more information. Perhaps there are those who live close enough and might want to attend.

I’m terribly afraid of heights. I can’t even imagine.

@Tampa_girl7 I am also afraid of heights. I also cannot imagine him going up high and doing this at his age so that is why I think it is amazing,

@RebeccasFarm it really shows that age is just a number. Very encouraging. Who is your profile photo of?

@LadyDuck I understand I also am afraid of heights but he is a guy that does encourage us to just go on and do what we love at any age,

@RasmaSandra You're right. I didn't realize he was doing it inside the church. Still, I hope he'll be safe.

I saw the movie about his walk between the Twin Towers. That's quite a feat to do a high wire act at 74. Have a good day.

I would like to watch the ribbon walk. At 74 he might be too old for that activity but I hope he succeed. He is a legend.

He is a brave man. I am rather fearful of heights and even watching this type of thing gives me chills. It is interesting and I shall check it out further.

@celticeagle if I still lived in NYC and could afford it I would probably go and see him do his Ribbon Walk. However, I am sure it will wind up on YouTube so no one misses it,

I remember seeing a news story of Philippe when I was in New York City with my relatives visiting my deceased relatives in 1974 when Philippe was taken into custody by the New York City Police for trying to do a stunt at the former Twin Towers. He is a very brave man for doing what he enjoys doing.

I have a profound fear of heights and my balance sucks, so I'd never dare such a feat, but it would be cool to see and wow that he's still doing it at 74 years old.
