Wow, January is such a long month! I am glad February is a short one. Thinking about nostalgia today. I was just thinking what I would want my epitaph to be. It is purely theoretical because I plan to be cremated, however, what I would want it to say or what I want them to think is 'We we're better having known her.' That is how I feel about a friend of mine who passed. I was better for having known her. Can you think of people who fit that bill?

Our former neighbours of over 20 years would both fit that bill.
We never became 'friends' during out time residing side by side, but I would say that about each of them.
When my first friend passed, about 12 or 13 years ago, I was too shocked to think straight to think of a one liner about her. But in my days, weeks, months and years since then I would say about her, a great big heart of gold and giggles.

@snowy22315 You know what is really sad?
Deb's granddaughter, Alicia, went with her Uncle (her mother's brother) for a drive, just over an hour away on a divided highway, a transport truck travelling in the other direction, lost control drove across the median (which is really a dry ditch) and headed straight for their car. The uncle saw it coming and threw himself across Alicia, as that was the way that they found them when the first responders arrived. It was Mother's Day weekend, and Deb's daughter-in-law lost her only child and her brother. They were killed instantly and the truck driver walked away without a scratch.
My heart broke for Deb's hubby, Albert, as that little girl meant the world to him and he and Deb bought a camper just so that they could enjoy time away from home with her.

You are lucky. There are a lot of nice people in the world, but only a few I would consider truly special and above the maddening crowd.

@snowy22315 Yes, I have a friend I can count on in a pinch, and several new friends since I moved here who are very nice. I also have many friends at church.

I think cremation is better than normal burial. This is to prevent unwanted resurrection when someone is 6 feet under.

@snowy22315 I want the same thing as you. But I'm too young to bring up the cremation topic for my body. I will wait for many years later to bring it up.

My two closest friends fit the bill along with most of my friends here at MyLot, including you, snowy. Have a good week.
