Marriage Can Be Fun...Or Sometimes Potentially Deadly

Sometimes I just can't help myself. I am a man and sometimes while my head seems firmly attached to the rest of me, it doesn't always make all the right connections and work properly. Plus, I tend to have a bit of a warped sense of humor as well. So, there's that. Luckily in all reality, my wife knows me very well and she's more often than not, a good sport. Besides, she gets in her fair amount of jokes and jabs too, so it's not like it's an unfair game we sometimes play with each other. She was down in the basement tidying up (and yes, I was helping her), and I keep "overstock" pantry items down there in the cupboards we have above the sink. I had some items I had put on the counter that weren't put away yet and so I was working on that. "I have some stuff upstairs I need to bring down here too," I said. Mostly canned items like diced tomatoes and tomato soups. "Would you like the bag to bring them down?" she asked. "Sure," I said. "If you don't mind." This is usually the best time for the never unfunny tag line, "And then the fight started." I actually posted this exchange on Facebook and simply announced, "Burial is next week. Please sign in when you attend. And bring flowers." She actually did laugh it off, which was a good thing. In fact, it saved my life.
