@Just4Him likes to chase me around with a cattle prod. @Vandana7 likes to take videos. They are bad bad people. Very bad. Very very bad. Or maybe not.
I am working on a book about developmental psychology. But some days I would rather drink Scotch and write on MyLot than work on my book. I am a bad bad man. Very bad.
But this morning, I did some work on the Intro to my book. I begin with some cute anecdotes of kids "saying the darndest things." Then I get a bit more serious.
I want the Intro to be short and to the point, but to contextualize the chapters in the book. Each chapter will be a "case study" about a kid I worked with.
I have only four students this afternoon. Then I go with a friend to some kind of music show that I'm sure I'll write about.
Anyway, put your prods away.

Maybe I'll send you what I have done on the Intro. Some intros are so dang long, I get bored. I want people to laugh, and then realize it's a serious book. Kind of like Mark Twain. He was funny, but there was a seriousness behind that funniness. I tried to capture that seriousness in the song I wrote about his relationship with his daughter. Heh. I'll link it. But you've probably seen it (the song, I mean). There's a seriousness behind all good humor, I think.

I saw a sort of "showcase" being filmed for NPR this evening. The highlight of the show for me was not a surprise appearance by one of my favorite musicians, Canadian singer-songwriter Bruce Cockburn. It was Colin Hay's performance at the end. Have you heard of him? He is described as Scottish-Australian. His songs were really beautiful. Just him and an acoustic guitar.

I'll see if I can find a link to the song that made me wipe away a couple of tears last night. I may have to learn it once I get over emotionally "over-responding " to it.

But I like watching the videos they take. Does that make me bad?
