The United States Coast Guard (USCG) went on a mission to locate a 60 year old man named Noel Rubio who is 60 years old after he left Long Beach California on December 28 2023.
Noel was supposed to arrive in Oahu Hawaii on January 18, 2024. When Noel was not seen or contact his relatives of his whereabouts.
However officials with the USCG did report to the relatives of Noel via social media that Noel had been seen in the ocean and he arrived in Hawaii on Sunday.
Noel had in his possession a marine band radio aboard his vessel but he was not able to contact his relatives until he arrived in Hawaii on Sunday.
The reason that Noel's family members were concerned that he may have been vanished was that after 37 days, they had no news about his whereabouts until recently.
Just call it that Noel's trip from California to Hawaii was due to having a slow boat trip.
I am sure that Noel's family are happy that he did make it to Hawaii later than never.

It was good that people were concerned about his whereabouts, but all was well, in the end.
He was on a slow boat to Hawaii, not to China...

@innertalks I was just thinking about that slow boat to China or perhaps the guy was trying to get to Hawaii via China,

@RasmaSandra Yes, going via China to Hawaii, would be a long trip indeed.
Maybe he was playing the song of the same name, as he sailed along, blissfully:
"Slow Boat to China"
was a song written by Mike Ragogna, and recorded by American country music group, "Girls Next Door," released in 1986.

It's good that the coast guard went looking for him. So it sounds like he didn't get disoriented or anything and was still going in the right direction?

Noel was in the right direction but the time to arrive in Hawaii took longer than expected.

Welcome home, Noel. What a relief to know that he’s okay and happily back from the vastness of the ocean.
