im currently learning muay thai. i did taekwondo when i was younger, but it seemed more of a sport than a martial art. muay thai on the other hand is very combat effecient and very deadly.
it has many forms in many countries, but i guess muay thai is most known. also called "the science of eight limbs", it utilizes the hands, feet, elbows, knees and shins (well, the contact points of the kicks are on the shins, not the feet). a very well rounded combat method, muay thai has a wide array of striking techniques ( there's a different category of strikes for every limb you use for striking, so i guess there are eight striking categories) , there's strike defense, stand up grappling and the clinch. when used altogether, the Nak Muay (muay thai fighter) can be considered as a very deadly weapon. i'll try to researh more about this to make this thread more informative.

yeah i practice martial arts for than a decade. Im practicing master Gichin Funakoshi's teachings. the japanese karate. You should try to. You just have to be patient in martial arts. It really is tiresome. But believe me it feels good after the practice. Anyway, where in philippines are you?

Yes in past I practiced jiu jitsu and judo. After also kung fu tong long and a little sil lum and choy lat. Now I'm sad but don't have the time to continue daily... Weapons I used and i like are tonfa, manriki kusari and shaken. using tonfa versus nunchaku and manriki kusari versus katana/bokken. Shaken for long distance fighting (not versus real persons, of course!).

When I was a kid I used to train with my father and uncle. But I train for just a short time. I used to mimic martial arts of Jet Li, Jacky Chan and Bruce Li when I was in grade school. That's why I always had a fight during those days. But now I guess Ive got no time to spend for such activities.
