Good afternoon. I like Dark Chocolate Dove Promise chocolates. One quote says, 'If you can't go right, go left.
I've done a bit of that today. I'm halfway through the preparations for today's dinner party. I have the apple crisp out of the oven. Instead of broccoli, I'm serving caramelised carrots. The potatoes are ready to cook. The carrots are ready to go in the oven. I cracked the peppercorns. If I don't have enough, I can grind more. The filet mignon is ready. All I need to do is prep it. I'll do it soon.
It's going on two p.m. They will be here at six. I just took the garbage down and brought up the coffeepot from the community room.
I know timing is everything and I hope the timing is perfect and I don't jump the gun in getting it all ready. I just finished pealing the garlic. That was fun. I never did that before either. I set the table, so I don't need to do it later.
By the way, I never made caramelised carrots before either. Today is rife with a few firsts. It should be fun as it comes together. The only thing I have made before is cheesy mashed potatoes.
It's going to be a fun dinner party.
Have you experienced any firsts recently? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

I've had to learn a whole set of things to manage my husband's health. We're getting him switched to a new, easier to manage, blood thinner. We'll both be happy about that. Peg tube feedings are fun, and George is getting to where he is tolorating them at the very least.

@just4him I think George will, too. The less I have to say 'no' to, the better for him.

Sorry that not everything has gone to plan, and some things have changed....but that's good to be prepared and have a lot of the things completed.
I can't think of any recently

I hope you had a great dinner party, No firsts here, Well, actually I guess my cats are experiences firsts. They just went through 16 lbs of dry cat food with fish, Now I have new cat food for them with meat and poultry, They are trying to decide if this is good or bad, I have informed them that either they like it or they don't eat. I like to change their menu around and usually after a few days they adjust,

I think you are brave making these recipes you haven't tried before. I hope they all come out well. One thing even if they weren't delicious...the minister and his wife are not going to make any negative comments...I am sure it will all be good though..wish I was there!

Thank you. So far, the only thing I'm not surprised about is the caramelized carrots. 25 minutes isn't long enough to cook them. So, they're back in the oven. The potatoes are ready. I only need to mash them. They're still on the stove in the pan.
I have four filets and three people for dinner.
