Day 27 – The Answer Genesis 25:11 And it happened, after the death of Abraham, that God (Elohiym) blessed his son Isaac. Isaac dwelt at Beer Lahai Roi. 19 This is the genealogy of Isaac, Abraham’s son. Abraham bore Isaac. 20 Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah as wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian. 21 Now Isaac pleaded with the LORD (Jehovah) for his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD (Jehovah) granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22 But the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If all is well, why am I like this?” So, she went to inquire of the LORD (Jehovah). 23 The LORD (Jehovah) said to her, “Two nations are in your womb, two peoples will be separated from your body; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.” 24 When her days were fulfilled for her to give birth, indeed there were twins in her womb. 25 The first came out red. He was like a hairy garment all over; so, they called his name Esau. 26 Afterward his brother came out, and his hand took hold of Esau’s heel; so, his name was called Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them. 27 So the boys grew. Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field; but Jacob was a mild man, dwelling in tents. 28 Isaac loved Esau because he ate his game, but Rebekah loved Jacob. 29 Now Jacob cooked a stew; and Esau came in from the field, and he was weary. 30 Esau said to Jacob, “Please feed me with that same red stew, for I am weary.” Therefore, his name was called Edom. 31 Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright as of this day.” 32 Esau said, “Look, I am about to die; so, what is this birthright to me?” 33 Then Jacob said, “Swear to me as of this day.” So, he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob. 34 Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, rose, and went his way. Thus, Esau despised his birthright. God’s name: Elohiym – Mighty God Jehovah – Self-Existent, Eternal Yeshuwa – Jesus Christos – Messiah God’s character: The answer Mashiyach - Savior Kurios - Master Everyone wants answers when life becomes difficult. When people don’t understand why things happen, they look for answers. Isaac turned to Jehovah when Rebekah didn’t bear children. Rebekah turned to Jehovah when she conceived, and it felt like a war was taking place in her womb. Jehovah told her she would have twins and the elder would serve the younger. Who do you turn to for answers? As Christians, you know the only answer to your questions is Elohiym. When you read and study Elohiym’s Word, you realize Elohiym gave you the answer to all your struggles and hardships, Yeshuwa. When you accepted Yeshuwa as your Mashiyach and Kurios, your war began. Satan attacks you with struggles and hardships. His intention is for you to turn away from Elohiym and His plan for your life. Instead, your struggles and hardships should move you closer to Elohiym. Yeshuwa is your answer to all your troubles in life. When Satan comes after you, look to Him for your answers. Trust Him. Esau didn’t trust Jehovah. He was more concerned with his immediate needs. Jacob looked to his future and caused Esau to give up his birthright. Satan will try to make you look at your present situation and not your future. He wants you to sell out for an immediate fix. However, Yeshuwa is your answer. He is your future, your hope. Look to Him for your answers and not what can fulfill an immediate need. Your future is Yeshuwa, eternal life. He alone satisfies. Satan wants you to go after the stew, while you need to look to your birthright in Yeshuwa Christos. Let’s pray: Father, help me look to my future in You and not look at my circumstances for an immediate fix. My hope is in You, not in what the world and Satan offers. Keep my eyes on my birthright found only in Your Son. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 14 February 2024 by Valerie Routhieaux The image belongs to me.

I loved this bible study. Isaac stayed twenty years without a child but pleaded with God and Rebekah bore twins. This reminds that everything is possible with God. Esau didn't know how important his birthright was. He should not have sold it but he did. God's word about the twins came to pass. Nice prayer. Amen. I choose to look to Jesus for my future despite my circumstances.

It is still the way of the world, even in these days, for a lot of people to go for immediate gratification, rather than for long-term, future gains, and eternal life with Jesus in Heaven. We need to ensure that our future is ensured, by accepting Jesus Christ today into our life.

Yes, there is a lot of selfishness in the world. I agree. We need to ensure our future in Jesus Christ by accepting Him as Savior and Lord.

@just4him Yes, the idea of being oneself, and then putting that self above all else trying to be it, flies in the face of us being the person that God created us to be, and serving others, rather than just serving ourselves, and taking the biggest serve for ourselves, to try to be our best self, in our own way, rather than in God's way for us.
