Chicken And Taters

I swear, between chicken and pork, these seem to be rather ubiquitous as meals around here. Hey, chicken is cheap, universal, and tasty just like pork mostly is. So, it "pays" to eat it.
For dinner last night I went with the tried and true baked bone-in chicken thighs and just seasoned them with a little taco seasoning and onion salt. The taco seasoning was nothing fancy. Just a regular packet of taco seasoning you might add to ground beef for tacos that I poured into a seasoning shaker.
On the side we had a salad, and then...these bad boys.
That is, the bad boys in the picture. Fried red potatoes with onions and celery. Man, were they ever tasty. But of course. Can fried potatoes ever not be tasty? I mean, come on.
What went on your dinner table last night?

I love fried potatoes. Those look delicious. Chicken here is so expensive. I do eat it a lot. It is one of my favorites.

@Happy2BeMe In Candian dollars $1.79 would be $2.42. How much in CAD do you normally pay?

Potatoes, carrots, celery, and onion all fried together in bacon grease is stupendous. I add fried bacon sometimes and then topped with shredded cheddar and sour cream. I could eat that by itself for a meal.

I would love the potatoes sans the onions. SIL is coming in from Phoenix tonight. She is not a good cook; but that's what she's going to do while she's here. Have a good weekend.

@porwest The taste. I can eat something cooked with a little bit of onion; but raw is a definite NO.

That sounds pretty good, cause I love both
chicken & potatoes but potatoes fried isn't
good for me, so I have to be careful how
much I eat, as well with bread & other stuff.
When my pancreas went south on me it really
put a damper on what I can eat & how I can
cook it to eat, so it's a whole new ball game
on how I cook the food I CAN eat & can't.
