Put on hold by 911?

I am glad I wasn't being carjacked.
Some human barely missed me in his (or her) white Tesla today. I had to take evasive action not to get hit. He was doing about 50 in a 30 mph zone near Guitar Center.
He then almost took out another car.
He started to accelerate when the light in front of us turned red, but another car was already in the intersection, an he screeched to a stop.
I was able to get behind him at the light, and I took down his license plate number.
Once home (I didn't bring my cell phone to work with me) I called 911 and was transferred to California Highway Patrol.
I was put on hold.
After about five minutes I hung up and moved on to other things.
Did you hear about the med student who was attacked from behind while playing his cello (quite nicely, I might add) at a train station of some sort? I think this happened a couple of days ago, somewhere back East.
It's weird in the US right now.

In my opinion, our country has always been 'wired'.

@TheHorse Weird. Although the other spelling is accurate. Half the countery lost their damn minds when AT&T went down for a good 12 plus hours the other day. I personally had no idea. Although I think it might've given a bunch of spam bots a hint, LOL!

It sure is weird in this country right now. I think it has exelerated from what we had since the Insurrection.

It was weird in this country a while ago. Now it's dangerous and frightening.

People have very little regard for one another. I do not know if 911 was your best bet, maybe an administrative number--of course that could be what they transferred you to. I did hear about the subway cellist attack. At least I think it was in a subway.

Does 911 work differently if you’re in a car? I think it used to.

That surprises me that you were put on hold. You should try again, that sucker who nearly hit you, his license plate needs to be reported.

@TheHorse A friend took me to Olympia yesterday cause I wanted to go to Trader Joes!! I was delighted that she drove. She has a bigger car and did not appear to have as many issues as me when it comes to skipping across three lanes to get to an exit. I am choosing to rarely engage in such hilarity these days. I know too much about situational awareness.

What do you mean, “it’s weird in the US right now”? I went to the site of the Branch Davidian compound and the Waco siege yesterday. That happened nearly 31 years ago. Not just “right now.”

No I didn't hear about that med student, but I rarely see the news.
When your called 911 did you tell them what it was about? If your did that's probably why your were transferred. It sounds like they didn't figure it was an emergency. If your didn't explain any of it then it's quite odd.
Here where I live in Michigan which is near Saginaw but a smaller town than that I'll call 911 when I see a bunch of glass in the road and they never transfer my call.

I'm glad we don't get put on hold here! No, I didn't hear about the student. That's terrible. It's definitely a weird world we live in. Have a good day.
