She gave me a ring!

Am I really engaged? I don't think so. But when someone gives you a ring, it means something. She also brought a "lava lite" to her lesson today. She tried to be a pill for the first 10 minutes of her lesson. But I turned her "lava lite" into an experiment. (It was one of those toys where the "lava" drops from top to bottom and then you turn it over.) It took 87 seconds for all of the lava to drop from top to bottom. Finally she settled in and played some Beethoven and some scales. Do you suffer like I do? I reminded her about her toys, but she forgot her ring when she left. I interpret it as a gift.

Your title reminded me of an episode of the Beverly Hillbillies when Sonny Drysdale tole Ellie he'd give her a ring in the morning and the Clampets took it to mean an engagement ring, not a ring on the phone.
