First of all, Happy Leap Year Day!
Yesterday, aside from the weather, was a very good day. Got my blood test out of the way; and then we went to see my husband. My husband was very lucid and chatty. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy the visit. He also ate a good portion of his lunch which I was happy to see. All this gives me hope that he will be able to return home some day. There was only one point at which he talked about something that wasn't happening. He thinks they are making a movie about him. Sigh.
Once it is approved, he will be transferred to Hillcrest Hospital. Supposed to be as good as Cleveland Clinic without all the problems of parking, etc. For right now he is still in ICU. Very good care.
Thank you for your continued support.

I am glad you got to see him and were able to talk to him a bit. I wonder where he got the movie idea? Oh, my.
Is there a reason for him to still be in ICU? I know they put medically unstable people there...can he be moved from an ICU to another hospital, or does he have to be cleared from ICU before moving? I know that here they make them spend a day or so in a regular room if they are going to transfer for similar circumstances.
I hope he is good tomorrow when you see him. Did you get your blood work done?

He's supposed to be transferred to a regular room; but they haven't done that yet for some reason. Yes, I got my bloodwork done. My glucose is too high; and my doctor wants me to get a renal ultrasound.

I am glad to hear that he had such a good day. I hope you can get that glucose down, very soon.

We all star in our own movie but sometimes the director is nuts.

That statement is so true. Some true life stories are much more dramatic than the popular movies can ever be!

So happy to hear things are improving and he had a good day and you had a good visit with him yesterday. The thing about the movie could be the medication, or just confusion because he has been through so much. Focus on the good now. I am glad he is finally getting the care that he needs that will help alot in his recovery. Continued prayers.

He must be feeling better which is awesome. I remember when friend's aunt had an aneursym she was introducing me to everyone as her daughter's 5th grade teacher. Sad, but funny at the same time.

@LindaOHio Yeah, but you kind of have to see the humor in it. She didn't know me well anyway.

@snowy22315 My husband made me laugh more than a few times with his ramblings. It was sad but so funny.

I looked it up, Hillcrest is part of the Cleveland Clinic system. So he’ll be in good hands.

@LindaOHio — as anyone should be. Surgeries are as common as taking a drink of water, but that doesn’t mean something can’t go wrong. But I’m praying nothing DOES.

Yes, ma'am. I'm very nervous about that surgery.

@FourWalls What happens if they are in the middle of the surgery; and his blood pressure drops again???? That's what I worry about.

Glad he ate good and was mostly making sense. You being able to visit more right now helps I am sure.

@LindaOHio I remember my dad would get confused in the hospital. Within a few hours of getting him home he would be back to normal

That sounds a bit optimistic that he was lucid and chatty and also that he was eating. Maybe the idea of the movie was residual from the anesthesia. I sincerely hope that he'll be able to come home one day and that he continues to improve when they move him to Hillcrest. I know he still has a long road ahead with his hip surgery, etc.

He is no longer combative or getting out of bed and falling, etc.; so he would be able to survive at home.
