Another covid victim

Not a person this time but a tourist attraction and research facility. I’m sure no-one would deny that covid has been responsible for a number of businesses finding themselves in financial difficulties. A new one which was featured in our local news is the Bunbury Dolphin Discovery Centre, which has now put itself into administration. The Centre is situated on an inlet and the wild dolphins come and go as they please. They used to have times when you could feed the dolphins but I think that practice has stopped. We visited there some years ago and the interpretative centre was very impressive. It's to be hoped the Centre can survive this latest hurdle. The photo was taken in Busselton at one of our house-sit places.

It would be a great shame if it had to close altogether. They have some really educational displays there.

It's sad the Bunbury Dolphin Discovery Centre fell victim to COVID. I hope it can make a comeback from the financial difficulty it finds itself in.

It is very sad how many places went under during Covid. It was so hard for a lot of places to recover financially.

I still feel strange when I see photos from that time and the malls and streets are absolutely empty.

I am sorry, many places have closed here after Covid and we are losing also many stores. People got the habit to buy online.

I know one big restaurant in a seaside town started doing home delivery during covid. Businesses needed to think outside the box if they wanted to survive.

We were so excited to see the first dolphins in our part of the canal complex. We saw them a few times during our stay there.

It would be sad if the Centre were to permanently close. Dolphins have always been a favorite of mine since way back in my childhood days of watching the show Flipper on television.

Hopefully they'll survive with better management. There are universities and research units involved as well so they'll be pushing for it to continue.

I've been out whale watching once or twice. I couldn't get over how huge they were.
