Steve Newcomb who is a minuteman with the Illinois Department of Transporation in Chicago Illinois was on duty on Friday morning when he noticed an auto that was on fire on the Kennedy (Interstate 90). Steve took action to rescue two young ladies who are 18 and 19 years of age who crashed their auto into a concrete median on the expressway as the auto caught fire in the middle of the expressway. Steve was amazed that the eyewitnesses decided not to step in and assist the two ladies who were inside the burning auto when he risked his life to get both females out of the danger zone in the nick of time. Both females were then taken by an ambulance to Masonic Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Steve is being praised for his actions of saving the lives of the two female drivers who could have perished in the auto accident due to smoke inhalation. Link is msn.com/en-us/news/us/...

I am grateful that the two women could be saved. And I also wonder how come there are people who have the heart to let go and don't want to help where is their sympathy?

That is a good question why some persons did not offer to assist the accident victims when they could have used their help.

@astutimeliana723 That is true that people do not care about the suffering of others until they are the victim.

@Deepizzaguy I think their hearts are as hard as stone, so they can't feel other people's suffering.

It is sad so many people seemingly aren't interested in helping others in an emergency. Thankful Steve was there and able to get both girls out of the burning car.

I am in agreement with you that some people do not want to assist people in need these days.

Glad the ladies got rescued. Sounds like these two are too young to drive,

I'm glad the police officer rescued them in time. It's sad that most people will stand around and watch and do nothing.

That is true that some people like to be news hounds instead of assisting persons who are in trouble.

Steve’s heroism is off the charts! It’s wild how some people freeze in emergencies, but he jumped in without hesitation.
