Dutch Baby

We have not felt like eating. I have not felt like cooking. Both Bob and I have this cough and lack of energy.
I have been wanting pancakes, but I did not want to stand and pour and flip, etc. So I made us a Dutch Baby.
Nothing really Dutch about it except for its name.
It is described as a cross between a skillet pancake and a popover. I have never had a popover that I know of.
I opened a can of applesauce and warmed it, with a touch of pie seasoning in it. We put that on top of our Dutch Baby.
Comfort food at its finest.

I know we will get there eventually. This morning, Monday, I had a lot of mental energy and I liked that feeling.

I've been craving pancakes lately, too. I've seen pictures of Dutch babies, but have never tried them. I do love popovers, though. But I ended up having my leftover French onion soup and a slice of Italian bread from dinner last night. I'll get those pancakes eventually. We have blueberries in the freezer I plan to add to them.

Yum for the blueberries. I finally also made pancakes and have them in the refrigerator to warm up as I need them.

I feel much more satisfied if I eat a small meal than if I just mindlessly munch all evening.

@GardenGerty Yeah I can understand that I feel the same. If I munch it feels like I never stop being hungry.

I have made them before. I liked that this was not a huge recipe, so not a lot of left over.

It was good and simple. Not as heavy on flour as a pancake.

It is good, yet simple. A little breakfast meat with it is good.

Prayers are always appreciated, and illness often stays too long. It was good and really a treat for me.

Simple comfort food and not too much or too complicated.
