Well, That Didn't Work

Yesterday, we had a Zoom meeting at Writer's Guild. We were to bring our laptops. Now, mind you. I have a laptop. I used it between my last computer dying and getting this one. I also cursed it a lot. Anyway, I needed to get it charged so I could log onto the Zoom call. It didn't work. I got onto the Wi-Fi for the restaurant, that took some time. But when it came to logging into the Zoom meeting, my laptop wouldn't allow it. It said it needed to update and wouldn't do that either. So, I shared my friend's laptop. See, I'm not technologically inclined about everything. Some things elude me. I have it charged up right now, so I might play with it so I can get it updated. We'll see. Since there's not a Zoom call in progress, it might not work. Are you technologically challenged? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. My old computer taken two years ago.

About Toom: review your app version and then upgrade as necessary. Uninstall the app, then download and reinstall it. Clear Zoom cache and cookies from the settings. Restart your device and your browser.

@LadyDuck Yes, but it wouldn't allow me to update last night, and it was too late anyway as the presentation had started.

I am technologically challenged and feel very fortunate to have my grandson here. He comes to my rescue many times. Good luck on getting the laptop going for your meeting.

Nice photo of your old computer. I'm sorry sorry you had a difficult time joining the zoom call because of your laptop. I hope you get it updated soon so it won't cause more delays in the near future. I don't know if I can say that I am technologically challenged because of not owning a laptop currently.

Yes , the cam or sound didnt work properly because of the slow internet. I have a hard time attending the zoom last afternoon but at least i'm done attended an hour zoom meeting about volunteering online

I am sorry, maybe you need to read how to use zoom, because zoom meetings are very helpful in long distance meetings.

Not too much, I can usually figure things out. However, it can present a challenge at times. I guess you better update your laptop. Sorry you missed the meeting. Sometimes you can use a phone on those things..but it has to be set up that way.

I am very non tech savvy myself, I can understand your feelings. My hubby has a zoom meeting here this evening and will use a headset that I have for work. He knows how to add devices, unlike myself.

Getting into a zoom meeting is beyond my expertise. Hope the laptop works next time you need it. Sounds like it was a bit frustrating but at least you were able to share your friends.

I'd say I'm about 50/50. I've learned a lot since I bought my first computer more than 20 years ago; but I don't know everything. Have a good day.
