Why Facebook at all?

Facebook has become a platform for advertisement. Gone are the days when we used so much time on Facebook. I’m sure there are people quite active even now, but with all those promotions and individual project platforms popping up, I have lost the interest.
Very occasionally I might shoot a message over Messenger but Whatsapp is faster. It’s like alarm.
I know there are people who have more than a thousand in their Friend List but are they in touch with all of them? Maybe.
As for me, I’m only contented with 'likes' and uploading photos.
Recently, I posted a review, my own, of a movie I watched. I was very happy when a dear friend of mine, read it and watched. I felt inspired.
MyLot has brought back my flair for writing long lost.
I checked that Facebook tops the rest of the social media platforms. But I am more contented with the lesser-known ones. Of course, FB provides the privilege of connecting with those you’ve lost touch with, for various reasons and there are videos of one’s preferences, I find informative, but then, that’s that.
Many of my friends have deactivated their accounts because they don’t have the time. Somewhere I get the feeling that we need more than a ‘like’ or a one-liner comment. Platforms like MyLot gives that privilege.
With so many features, new introductions, modifications, it might be a craze, but I sometimes feel, aren't we being too, too open with our data, when we log in there?

I like Facebook too but I'm never active. I mostly use it to get updates and read some topics I'm interested in. I follow people who keeps us updated with christian trends and news.
I currently love mylot. I'm very active on mylot than other websites.
