Accordion or Guitar?

So there are two birthday cards I’m trying to decide between for my brother-in-law’s birthday. One (in the picture) is an accordion in card form that plays Happy Birthday as you open and close it like you’re playing it. The other card is smaller, of a guitar, and you play Smoke on the Water by strumming the card. He used to play the guitar, but then the accordion is more unusual. Which one do you think he’d prefer? Which one would you like more?

That's a good question. The accordion is very different. I'd like the guitar more probably, and sounds like one I'd give to my husband

Yeah, I guess I feel like since the accordion is more unique I should pick that one, but I might be overthinking it. No, I am definitely overthinking it.

@AmbiePam Well if they like unique things, then I would definitely say go for that one!

@MommyOfEli2013 I should probably ask myself, which one would my brother-in-law use most to drive my sister nuts?

I think I would go with the guitar card. My brother in law has an April birthday also. He and my sis are so cute, whenever I give them something they either wear what I have given them or in his case, he brought the personalized mug I gave him to drink coffee out of when I saw them at Christmas. I am glad he likes it, it wasn;t cheap... I was thinking of going up there for the eclipse, but with this ginormous insurance bill think I will wait until this summer. If you could afford it, you could give the accordion for another gift giving occassion.

That is so sweet of your sister and brother-in-law; I love that. Maybe I should save the accordion for my dad’s birthday. Here’s a picture of the guitar card.

@AmbiePam Yes, that's a thought. I love the guitar card, and the accordion card is unique too.

I think the first one is a bit more simple and a little more unique. However, you know him better than us. Appeal to his love. Although, I think he'd be happy with either or. So long as it's from you.

I say go with the guitar card since he used to play guitar. I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it

I've never seen cards like that! They both sound great, but I guess if he was a guitar player I'd get him that one.

I am going to go with the guitar, although I am glad you shared a picture of the accordion. I said "guitar" because it is a non seasonal song. He can play it more often.

If he liked to play the guitar, may be he will appreciate more the guitar. Save the accordion for another occasion.

What is perfect pitch? When you throw a banjo into the dumpster and it crushes two accordions. You know my answer.

I like both of them. My preference would be the accordion. What is his favorite instrument? That's the one you should give him.

Those are both very cute. I'd buy both and keep one for next year - but make sure you know where to find it when next year comes!!

Your brother would like either one; but I would choose the Happy Birthday and the accordion. Have a good weekend.

Hmm, if he is familiar with Deep Purple that would be the one. If not, maybe unusual is better. Personally, since I'm familiar with the group and playing a song is pretty cool vs just Happy Birthday, I would choose that one.

It appears that giving an accordion card is a somewhat unusual idea. Thus, I go with the accordion. If your BIL loves to play the guitar, though, you might as well give that to him.

I love the accordion, the children may not have seen or heard such music. Good luck with your choice.

My instrument was the piano and since the accordion has a keyboard I would go with the accordion,

I like the accordion idea for your brother in law better since music will attract him a lot better than the other card.
