My cat likes the heat

I have a portable radiator in my room to keep it from being cold cold in the winter. Although winter is beginning to end, I've kept it on at a lower temp for our elderly cat who feels the cold much more than she used to. But, when I got up this morning, the elderly cat was on the bed with me up against my back and my cat, about 8 years old, was lying with her head almost touching the radiator.

Well cats in general are heat seaking missles. If you give them an inch they'll take a mile.

@jerzgirl It's also true. Cats may have a routine nature, but at the same time even they shake things up.

Cats prefer to be warm when possible ..... well, maybe not when it's over 100f or so

I have an electric blanket. She would get under that sometimes when it was really cold.

Thankfully it rarely gets too cold here for cats but if it does mine cuddles with his pup

I swear, it's like they're trying to bake their brains.

The cat looks nice resting near the portable radiator in your home.

I was glad she let me take the picture. She almost always moves when I try.

@jerzgirl That is true that cats do not like their pictures to be taken due to fear and anxiety.

I remember when I owned a cat, and I lived in Florida where summers are really hot and humid. I could not get her to come in from the enclosed porch. She seemed to really like laying and sleeping in that hot sunshine. Maybe it gives them a sense of comfort and security to prefer warm places.

I had a Siamese like that. He LOVED being hot. He'd stay out in the hot summer sun all day long, coming in only to get a drink (he had a harness and was on a lead). Mom would sometimes bring him in because of how hot it was. Inside in winter, Dad had a kerosene heater in the middle of the living room and that thing was HOT! Simon got as close to it as he possibly could. He'd be so hot we couldn't hold him.

@dgobucks226 And an excellent one at that! Two guys dress as women to join a ladies band to get away from monsters trying to kill them. Jack Lemon, Marilyn Monroe, etc. Also saw the Broadway version called Sugar.
