Staying with Parents: The woes and wows

It has been such a blessing to me and my daughter after we moved in with my parents. My kid has gotten the feel of what family is and my dad has made her feel like she has a father to call her own. And the support is endless. However, there are many disadvantages of being or living with my parents. This is my personal opinion based on my experience. My parents have never been good at communicating with us. They have always been the type to criticize and point out every little wrong. And due to this, I have never quite opened up to them when it comes to my problems. My mom especially and sorry to say is always jumping into conclusions and is definitely not a good listener. So when I tell her I have a problem, she'll bring up every little mistake I have made in the past and just shut me up, pushing me further away. I feel like it's hard doing things or making a step when all you have are jeers. Maybe am overthinking or something. And I don't want to raise my child in the condition I grew up in. I want to be a different parent. Support her and listen to her. Be what I never had in my mom. Yet I feel it's a blessing in disguise because Everytime I'm scolded, I push myself much harder. And I'm really looking forward to making them proud.

As a parent and a grandparent i would say your parents only want what is best for you. I am sure your mom doesnt mean to be judgemental she is just looking out for you. It is good that you and your daughter can stay there and your daughter has developed a close bond with your grandparents which will last through thr years. They will always have that special connection. They may not say it or show it but I am sure your parents are very proud of you. When the time is right you can move out with your daughter but if you need tp be there now then there is nothing wrong with that.
