First Mustang

Today's anniversary date is of the first Ford Mustang off the assembly line. I remember the car fondly as we kids back then were so in awe of Jim Brooks who had one of the first ones. Those were the days of riding happily on the highway to fun times. I did love those cars, but my heart's desire was an EType Gold Jaguar that I saw in a showroom.

Don't think I've ever seen a real, early, mustang. Still see the occasional E-Type in very good condition

@RebeccasFarm Thinking a bit more about it, I've been to the car museum on Wilshire Blvd, in LA. They must have one there!

I used to work for a Ford dealership and mustangs were very popular. When I was young I always wanted a Corvette

@RebeccasFarm it was a good job working at the dealership. I worked in the accounting department and it was a pretty cushy job.

We see a lot of Mustangs here nowadays but I think a lot of them might be kit cars.

I've seen a few Mustangs at some car shows. You were a hot shot if you drove one of those. Stingrays Corvettes and Porshe were other ones.

Thanks for the information. European and Japanese cars are more popular here. Well, I don't mind having an EType Gold Jaguar too.

There was a guy in my high school who had the older red convertible Mustang . . . always made me wonder HOW he had one (but then again he was one of the richy popular guys). I remember he and all of student government from our grade took a photo for yearbook with them in it.

I was never much into cars (I didn't get my driver's license until I was 22), but when I was younger I wanted a red MG. I had no idea what that was, but my cool cousin wanted one, so I did too.
