Problems will be there

All of life is a tiresome journey for some. For some, it is a lullaby and a luxury. But not one can complain that they don’t have a problem. If not circumstantial, it can be physical or mental. There are some born with a defect that is a problem for them, for the parents. When childhood problems are not resolved, they grow to become major problems later in life. Some people invite problems. They think less before speaking and acting. There are others who create problems with their thoughts and actions. In the same category lies those who are lazy and incompetent. The individual problems aside, we have global problems. The problems born of disharmony in thought word and deed create major problems. Here, at my place, I am getting the cleaning work of the area of our cooperative done, by our municipal corporation. I had to follow the official procedures to process the request and I am thankful to them that though a bit delayed, they have sent the supervisor early in the morning today. I had informed every one of the members belonging to the cooperative housing society last evening. There are people who did not turn up even after being informed, before the start of the work. Two of them had sent photos over WhatsApp at my request of the location that required cleaning, and that’s that. Problem is, these very people will be the ones messing up with the neatness of the area once it is done. So today I’ve called for a meeting. I am planning to put it down in pen and paper that maintenance of the cleanliness of the surrounding areas will be individual responsibility from now on. We will have a specific location where we’ll put up a sign board or where the municipal bins will be kept. We’ll get the place cleaned up and work on either gardening or growing veggies. There’s a park which has been left unkempt making it difficult for morning and evening walk by the elderly and outdoor games for the kids. At a particular cost towards using the oil for the machine, we’ll get it done by next week and keep the two exits locked. The responsibility will be given to two of the members. Most of the resident members are senior citizens who have a weak immune system. The need of the hour is to change the mindset. Had it been abroad, they would have been fined. I think, being the chairman, I am going to implement that.

We got part of the work done. Had a meeting as well. But the problems will remain. Basic problem lies in people's lack of sensitivity. Hopefully once the work is done, we'll be able to take necessary action.

Well, some people like to create rumors and then instead of apologizing they ended up trying to play victim. It's not easy dealing with senior citizens, seriously.
