Happy St. Paddy’s Day

I was always one to enjoy a holiday that seemed as bright and emerald green as spring. All through my school years I would wear green on St. Paddy’s Day. The only thing way back in my memory which is a sad moment back when I was six was my mother’s mom my grandma died on St, Paddy’s Day back in the 1960s. After that, it was still Irish music and dances and corned beef and cabbage. Just a single candle of a sad memory. Here is a poem I wrote about how I feel about this holiday. Enjoying St. Patrick’s Day Oh, no I’m not Irish, no not me, but come every St. Patrick’s Day and greener I couldn’t be. Love every four leaf clover, that happens to come my way, I’ll say to any leprechaun - Have a good day! Love those Irish jigs, seeing smiling Irish eyes, green’s the color for this day and I’m ready to be - jigging the day away! Green’s the color , I love to see, on a day that makes most everyone - Irish in their hearts. So come St. Patrick’s Day, surprised you won’t be, to see me do the Irish jig and wearin’ the green! Come St. Patrick’s Day, I’m ready to march in the big parade, prouder, than proud, to join the Irish - On their great day!
