I usually scroll through YouTube recipes while I rest in the afternoon and found the Gujarati idra interesting. I therefore tried it for breakfast and it turned out well and was light for my tummy. It's almost like the South Indian dish idli with the difference a little bit of beaten rice has to be added while grinding the batter. It was soft and spongy. I had it with " Dhania ( coriander leaves) chutney. My Sunday breakfast has to be unusual.

@aninditasen I am sure it is spicy and tasty. I saw some recipes on line for making a flatbread just using just yogurt and flour. I am going to do that.

@snowy22315 It's not that spicy for the batter neutralizes the hot taste of green chilly and pepper.

The main ingredients are raw rice, urad dal and a little beaten rice. The dal/lentils should be 1/3 the amount of rice taken. All the ingredients should be grinder with curd/ yogurt, ginger and green chilly. You need to put some fenugreek seeds into the batter and leave it over night to ferment.
