What I Ate Today - 3/18/24

Hello again, how are you all doing? I am back to share what I ate today, and all the numbers.... Weigh in - Last - 212.8 Today - 211.2 I did go down a little....but not to my "lowest" since I started earlier this month. Blood sugars - Fasting - 129 Meal 2 - 97 Meal 3 - 116 So, what did I eat? Meal 1 - about 2 oz eye of round steak, a small amount of liver (I ended up cooking it too long and burnt a lot of it), pepperoni snack stick, 1 cheese stick. Meal 2 - 6 oz blackened chicken with ranch to dip it in Meal 3 - 3.5 oz deli turkey, 1 cheese stick, and followed that with a Built Puff bar (brownie batter flavor). That was not extremely low carb and had some real sugar, so thought it might spike my sugar. Went up a little...but not too bad. I may get a box of them to maybe have 1x a week as a treat. Macros for everything: Calories - 989 Protein - 100 Fat - 57 Carbs - 17 Sugar - 5 Calories were up a little today, but still not around 1,200. Thought adding the bar would help. But not eating much of the liver I think messed up the calories too. Protein was pretty good though at 100. Kept carbs under 20 even with the bar. It tasted like a candy bar, was so good. I think I can get a box of either 4 or 6 for $7 - not bad either way since they are $2 each at my store on sale. I like that they have protein in the bars too. What do you think of the day of eating? I've never heard of Built Puff bars. I eat Nature Valley Protein Bars. They have an assorted package of 15 for $10.96. I don't know about the sugar and carbs. Probably pretty high. Have a good day.

Well they are like candy to me, at least the brownie batter one. It didn't spike my sugar too high which is nice to know. I have heard of that brand, but never bought any - they are made with granola aren't they? Would not be for me! lol. One I looked at had 15 carbs, and 6 fiber. so a lot of total carbs - but so did the built bar. I think I will buy a box of the puff bars, it would last a whole month for me since I would just allow like 1 a week.

That particular brand has some wicked ingredients. Palm oil, sucrose and dextrose. I was looking at them the other day as so many people here eat them. Have d pass it n those for me.

@MommyOfEli2013 - I remove all fat from the red meat before cooking, but I prefer chicken.

I am not the biggest fan of steak, most are too fatty. I don't like to eat the fat on meat...yuck. I like thin sirloin steak the best because it doesn't have much and has a good taste. The chicken has a ton of protein

@LadyDuck I would too, but sometimes you can't get all of the fat lol. I prefer chicken if it is like chicken nuggets haha.

I tried getting them up more, but I can only eat so much meat. Need to have some eggs again I guess.

How much calories do you consume in a day? I am also in counting my calories nowadays alone with my sugar levels. I have started with millets which is showing some amazing results to me. I ise to be 250 plus fasting and this week I am 135 in fasting
