Have you been in many caves?

Yesterday, my friend and I went to Fantastic Caverns, about an hour from where we are staying in Branson, Missouri for vacation. I have been 3 times in my 43 years, but this was my friend’s first. She loved it, and I also did (it’s too beautiful to get jaded). I love going underground, and of course 60 degrees (Fahrenheit) felt good too. Do you like caves or caverns? Have you been in many?

I have been in many and always find them interesting. If I am not mistaken, Fantastic Caverns is in Springfield. The one they drive you through. Cool place.

@AmbiePam We used to vacation in Branson a lot. Haven't been there in a while. Probably due for a return. We used to actually stay at a place in Kimberling City on Table Rock Lake called Green Valley Resort. Nice place.

Actually I've never been in a cave or cavern. I love your picture and it looks really amazing to see what's going on underground

@AmbiePam wow that's amazing and beautiful. I think it's something I would enjoy seeing even though I'm a bit skeptical about being underground.

I do find them very interesting. I have been in a few over the years. The coolest one that I saw had a huge spring in it and it was so big that people were 'swimming' in it.

@AmbiePam That cave was really awesome, it was dark, and smelt different than the other ones that we had been in in other areas. The humidity really affects the smells in caves.

It looks beautiful. I've never been in caves. There's a place close to here noted for its caves. Maybe I can go in them one day. My son and I went there for his birthday a few years ago, but we didn't go in the caves.

We have some lovely caves in our state and I've been to quite a few of them. They're very special places.

I have seen some of Australia’s caves explored on television, and they were pretty darn cool.

Beautiful photo, and I really like caves though I haven't been to any in ages. The last caves/caverns I did visit were Natural Bridge Caverns (somewhere in Texas, can't remember exactly) when I was around 11 or so.

I do yes, and I have been in many..although not in recent years. I would say 10-12 commercial caves, and one just on an exploratory mission. There is one here in VA thta I have wanted to go to for years..maybe this summer when it is hot.

I remember dad taking us to Carlsbad Caverns back in the 1960s but I was only about 12 or so and not that impressed except with the cute boy I saw

Yeah, you would not have enjoyed it then. While some places were huge and spacious, several places you had to duck because the ceiling of the cavern was so low.

@AmbiePam My claustrophobia is very bad, I cannot get inside a cave, no matter how spacious it is. I never use an elevator and I never go inside a room with no windows.

I've only been in caves a few times. And in a coal mine once.

I remember as a kid my mom took me and my sibs to Laray Caverns. The formations were really neat and one thing you also noticed down there was the temperature change. I also went caving or spelunking once. That was not a pleasant experience sliding through all those crevices. I had to throw my clothes out afterwards.

I live not too far from Mammoth Cave National Park, so I’ve spent plenty of time in caves. I wouldn’t do the “adventure” spelunking, but going on a tour of a cave doesn’t bother me at all.

Just a few. One in PA when I was a kid, one in Virginia when I was on vacation, and my Dad took us to one in Kentucky when he lived there.

That I remember, I've been to Ohio Caverns and Mammoth Caves. I've also been to a couple of other small caves/caverns. In addition, I've gone down in a salt mine a couple of times to take pictures for the company newsletter. Have a good day.

Just once, in Hawaii. There were cave paintings inside. It was interesting.
