The Dive Restaurant isn't a dive restaurant

In Carolina Beach, there is a restaurant called The Dive. I have passed by it many times over the years but didn't stop in until yesterday.
Inside is a very nice restaurant and bar. Yesterday, their special was Build Your Own Burger for $5. I had the special, and it was delicious. The bartender who waited on me was friendly and welcoming.
When she found out I was a writer, she asked if I had any of my books with me. As it happens, I did, and I was planning to visit an indie bookstore after lunch.
She bought a copy of Buzby Beach Homecoming, and I signed it for her.
It just goes to show that you never know where your next book sale will come from.
Hope y'all have been well.

Heh. I carry my cards with me from one of the bands I was in and give one out occasionally when I am on the road. "Check out my YouTube videos. Nice meeting you!" Once in awhile I get a comment from someone I met in Chicago or Montana. For some reason I don't think to give out my card here in California. I'll link my latest video. It's relevant to the current political scene, but that's not what I was thinking of when I recorded it. Glad you had a copy of the book with you.

Lucky you had a book for her. Is Carolina Beach near Wrightsville beach? I have been in that area before. I think it is a bit North of there though. I love NC. I wouldn't mind living there really, one of the most diverse states I have been in. Similar to VA but better.

That would have been a buzz. In a few weeks, you'd better drop in again with one of your other books.
