I know what happened

I often use lavender essential oil for calming with my main student. He really loves things that smell good. Lavender is supposed to be soothing.
I put some on his shirt while we did the after lunch hygiene routine of brushing his teeth and washing his hands and putting a soothing lotion on.
Evidently I did not fasten the lid down tightly, so lavender oil leaked into my cross body bag and all over my clothes. I possibly got it on my hands and into my eyes. That is what was wrong. I figured it out in the car when I got to school. My bottle of lavender oil was empty, but man my car smelled strongly.
It is the end of the day. The bag, and my jacket, and my dress from yesterday are in the wash. They will get a double rinse. I am doing much better this evening.

I had never really been that miserable before with my eyes, except when I got sun screen in them, but that usually passed fairly soon.

Too much of a nice smell can get too much.

I really thought I had got something on my hands and rubbed them, or that there was a lot of pollen that day.

Good to know what was causing your discomfort. Now, be sure to close your next bottle tightly.

I may not get another one to carry to school. The year is almost over.

Your eyes watered and burned? I am like that with almost all strong fragrances. The scents have to be really mild. I don't like lavender that much, but I just LOVE musk, vanilla, strawberry and rose scents. They don't bother me, even if strong.

I was thinking a big burst of spring pollen had happened. I like all those scents.

Mostly the oil soaked into the denim bag. The car is lightly scented and that is okay.

I am glad it was not something I had to permanently deal with, like an allergy.

@GardenGerty I'm sure the car smells wonderful. Not like your typical car smell.

Oh my goodness! I wonder if the lavender smell will ever come out of your clothes and bag? Have a better day today.

The clothes and bag are fine. Slight fragrance in car and in my living room.
