Day 63 – Praise Exodus 15:1 Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to JEHOVAH, and spoke, saying, “I will sing to JEHOVAH, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He threw into the sea! 2 JEHOVAH is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; He is my El, and I will praise Him; My father’s Elohiym, and I will exalt Him. 3 JEHOVAH is a man of war; The LORD is His name. 4 Pharaoh’s chariots and his army He has cast into the sea; his chosen captains also drowned in the Red Sea. 5 The depths have covered them; they sank to the bottom like a stone. 6 Your right hand, O JEHOVAH, has become glorious in power; Your right hand, O JEHOVAH, has dashed the enemy in pieces. 7 In the greatness of Your excellence You overthrew those who rose against You; You sent forth Your wrath; it consumed them like stubble. 8 With the blast of Your nostrils You gathered the waters together; the floods stood upright like a heap; the depths congealed in the heart of the sea. 9 The enemy said, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my desire will be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, my hand will destroy them.’ 10 You blew with Your wind, the sea covered them; they sank like lead in the mighty waters. 11 Who is like You, O JEHOVAH, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? 12 You stretched out Your right hand; the earth swallowed them. 13 You in Your mercy led forth the people whom You redeemed; You guided them in Your strength to Your holy habitation. 14 The people will hear and be afraid; sorrow will take hold of the inhabitants of Philistia. 15 Then the chiefs of Edom will be dismayed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling will take hold of them; the inhabitants of Canaan will melt away. 16 Fear and dread will fall on them; by the greatness of Your arm, they will be as still as a stone, till Your people pass over, O JEHOVAH, till the people pass over whom You purchased. 17 You will bring them in and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, in the place, O JEHOVAH, which You made for Your dwelling, the sanctuary, O Adonay, which Your hands established. 18 JEHOVAH will reign forever and ever.” 19 For the horses of Pharaoh went with his chariots and his horsemen into the sea, and JEHOVAH brought back the waters of the sea upon them. But the children of Israel went on dry land in the middle of the sea. 20 Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took the timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. 21 Miriam answered them, “Sing to JEHOVAH, for He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He threw into the sea!” 22 Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea; then they went out into the Wilderness of Shur. They went for three days in the wilderness and found no water. 23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore, the name of it was called Marah. 24 The people complained against Moses, saying, “What will we drink?” 25 He cried out to JEHOVAH, and JEHOVAH showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them. There He tested them, 26 and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of JEHOVAH your Elohiym and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I brought on the Egyptians. For I am JEHOVAH who heals (Rapha) you.” 27 Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve wells of water and seventy palm trees; so, they camped there by the waters. God’s name: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal El – God Elohiym – Mighty God Adonay – God’s proper name God’s character: Salvation JEHOVAH Rapha – Self-existent, Eternal Healer Provider Guide What do you do when things go right, when you see justice served on people who wronged you? You celebrate. You sing. You let everyone know what happened, and how justice came about so they can celebrate with you. When Israel saw their enemies drowned in the Red Sea, they sang a song of praise to commemorate how JEHOVAH saved them from their enemies. He became their salvation. Then JEHOVAH promised to never bring the diseases on them that He brought on the Egyptians because He was their Rapha. You only have one enemy who attacks you and causes you to believe you have many enemies coming against you. Satan comes against you with everything at his disposal. His weapons against you are the works of the flesh. Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (NKJV) You have weapons to use against Satan. 2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. (NKJV) What weapons can you use against Satan? Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. (NKJV) Therefore: Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand, therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you can quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. You have everything you need to destroy Satan and his arsenal of tricks against you. Israel praised Elohiym for destroying their enemies. You do the same when you praise Elohiym. You will see Elohiym’s protection and healing as He guides you on your journey through life. You only need to trust and obey Him. JEHOVAH will do the rest. Let’s pray: Father, hear me when I praise You for all You do for me. When Satan comes against me, let me praise You. When you heal me, let me praise You. As You lead me through my journey let praise fill me for everything You do to keep me safe until I come safely home to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. It's true, praise and worship is a powerful tool to fight the enemy. When we praise God, the enemy loses all the battles.
