Callie the Calico was waiting on the back porch this morning. I thought she was off having her kittens, but she’s still plump. She’s getting used to me, too…doesn’t run away anymore (just walks away). That’s part of living, and so is this month’s countdown of songs with “live” in the title. The top ten starts tomorrow. Let’s close off the alphabetical list with one you probably have never heard.
You’re the Reason I’m Living - Bobby Darin
When you hear a Bobby Darin song played anymore it’s either “Mack the Knife” or “Splish Splash.” There was a whole lot more to him.
I don’t know how you’d classify this song. It has a tinge of country and a lot of pop. But then, the first time I ever heard this was by Sonny James, so I can’t help but hear a tinge of country in it.
Enjoy one of Bobby Darin’s hidden gems!

Bobby Darin was a good songwriter. I think that gets overlooked a lot.

@grenery8 — that’s true. I use a lot of songs that were recorded before I was born, and I’ve even used a few that were recorded before my parents were born in the 1930s!!

I don't recognize this one; but I love Bobby Darin. It does have a touch of country. Have a good weekend.

Hopefully not more than a touch so you don’t get a migraine.

I’m glad you hear it, too. I just automatically associate this with country music because I learned it from Sonny James’ version.

The only songs that I know of the late musician are "Splish Splash" and "Mack The Knife." The song you shared on this site is very good as well.

There are two of his songs on my 100 favorites list, and neither of them are “Splish Splash” or “Mack the Knife.”

You’re quite welcome! There are so many great songs out there that are buried by time in favor of one or two “big hits” that everyone has heard a million times.
I’m glad you enjoyed it so much!
