I received my observation this afternoon

Yesterday the supervisor came in to observe a class. He has to do it every year for every teacher and yesterday was my day. I gave a lecture on sex-linked inheritance. I thought it went pretty well. I passed him in the hallway today and joked "I know nothing about forensic science but I definitely know my biology!" He said "you sure do". Anyway he was quick to get it done and he submitted it 8th period today. It was the highest score I've ever gotten so that made me happy. He isn't nearly as hard on us as the old science supervisor was. We are evaluated on all sorts of things and the scale is 1-4 with 4 being the best. The old supervisor would give mostly 3s with 2 or 3 4s and he wasn't afraid to zing us with a 2. This one was pretty much an even mix of 3s and 4s. At the end of the day it doesn't much matter as long as the score is above 2.65 which puts you in the "effective" category. I always say that you don't get a bonus for getting into the "highly effective" category. So I"m done with his observation for this year. The assistant principal still needs to do hers. She tends to just call the morning of when she wants to come so there isn't much of a chance to put on a dog and pony show. She understands that so she is pretty much fine with whatever we do. She also stays only for like 15 minutes rather than the full 40 minute period. We shall see when she decides to roll in. If anyone cares my score for this year was 3.66.
