Most Frivolous Thing You Own

My friend has one of those towel warmers; you know, a bucket that warms up your towels or bathrobe, pajamas… It has a little place where you can put in a scent packet if you want your items to have the benefits of aromatherapy. She thinks it’s totally worth it. I would just throw my stuff in the dryer, but I guess she likes this better. What is the most frivolous thing you own?

I am not sure if we own anything frivolous, although our car, which has heated mirrors, steering wheel and seats ranks as a bit frivolous, unless you have ever been out in an ice storm in Canada, then you need all of those features.

Someone in Germany once told me I was a spoiled American for having an air conditioner in my car. I thought, girl, you’ve never lived through an Oklahoma summer!

@AmbiePam I know, the cold and hot weather features are a necessity depending on where you reside.

I own a gorgeous wool sweater coat. When I purchased it almost 22 years ago it was the most expensive piece of clothing I ever purchased. I feel like a million dollars when I wear it. Strangers come up to me and comment on my beautiful sweater. Worth every cent. By now it’s actually a very frugal purchase. It looks brand new, it’s timeless and I’ve worn it so often.

I agree that throwing into the dryer is the best solution. My most frivolous thing... the lawn mower robot and it's totally useless.

Now that’s a bummer because you’d think it would be really helpful.

@AmbiePam Absolutely, I thought it was a great idea, but NO. If the grass is too tall it does not mow, if it's humid it stops, if it's too thick it stops every few feet. I am so deceived.

Um, let's see. One thing that comes to mind is a pair of fuchsia sequined high heels that I'll never wear again, but can't bear to part with.

Maybe it's just cheaper to have what she use's than the dryer which cost a TON of $ when you use the dryer for such thing.

Thirty seconds in the dryer just seems cheaper than keeping a gadget plugged in for five minutes, but I could be wrong. I say if one can afford it, go for it. It reminds me of a fine hotel.

@AmbiePam How do they say to each of their own if they feel better doing what they do then that's on them.

I got rid of some of my more frivolous things..I have a couple of those goofy decorator lamps..one is one of those salt lamps that look like a rock and another one is just a color changing lamp. The salt lamp supposedly has therapeutic benefits, but I doubt it..

I have 2 instapots by 2 different companies and one of them I've only used twice over the last couple years, I guess that would be frivolous?

Maybe I’d be tempted if my heat went out. But $165 is a lot of money.

The most frivolous thing we own is an automatic trash can. It has a sensor that opens so you don't have to use your hands My daughter loves gadgets so this was one of her silly purchases

Well if you don't have a dryer that could be a good thing to have. I don't really have anything that I can think of lol

I think what made me think of it as frivolous was that it was over $150, but she can afford that. If she were poor, it would be ridiculous, not frivolous.

@AmbiePam Well that is good she can. I have to save up for a long time to get something that costs that much. But I get what you are saying

Maybe a unit to soak my feet in. I've looked for it in the basement but recently found it tucked away in my husband's closet. I'm sure I put it there years back. Not sure that I'll use it again but maybe.

I guess maybe the heated seats in our Prado would count. We hardly need them in Australia but in winter it's pretty nice to have a warm bottom.
