A hotel named after a former graffiti artist / myLot

I put up a photo of a gigantic mural in Perth, capital of Western Australia. I discovered it was painted by the same guy that did another wonderful mural near our son’s house in Collingwood, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. His name is Matt Last but he now trades as Matt Adnate or simply Adnate. He began as a graffiti artist but now receives commissions from all over the world. He feels a connection towards indigenous people of whatever land, and has travelled to many countries painting murals, feeling particularly drawn to the first nation peoples of each country, and their feelings of displacement. For the Collingwood and Perth murals, Adnate choose to portray individuals who are from the immediate area. The photo is of the Collingwood mural. Some of you would have seen it before. The Perth mural is on a hotel which has been named The Adnate. That seems quite a big compliment to the artist. I’m reusing the same photo of a mural as I did a day or two ago but it’s worth a second viewing.

The word adnate means joined by having grown together.

I agree that the photo is worth a second viewing. I have just searched the name of the artists and I can see so many beautiful artworks that he did.

I don't think it would happen too often. I've heard it said that you should never name a building/bridge/river etc after a living person in case they then turn around and do something really bad.
